Canciones para una vida - Doomsword - Steel Of My Axe

STEEL OF MY AXE

Hoy quiero hablar de un grupo italiano, original en su sonido y en su concepción musical. Se trata de "Doomsword", proyecto que muestra grandes influencias de temas épicos y de la antigüedad, así como de la historia medieval, la literatura fantástica y la mitología europea, todo ello aderezado con un sonido de heavy metal clásico y doom metal con un toque power. La mezcla es curiosa, y al menos merece la pena escuchar su propuesta que en muchas ocasiones resulta más que aceptable. El concepto musical surge a todos los niveles, y se nota incluso en los nombres de los integrantes que adoptan nombres relacionados con diversas cosas, así encontramos pseudónimos como   Deathmaster Nidhoggr, Wrathlord, The Autarch, The Ancient, Sacred Heart, Geilt, The Forger, Guardian Angel, Guardian Angel II, Nightcomer, Dark Omen o Soldier Of Fortune. El grupo se forma en 1997 por Deathmaster y Guardian Angel quienes tocaban en un proyecto musical de música tradicional llamado "1014AD". Deciden reconvertirse en una banda de heavy metal usando el material de esa banda y se hacen llamar "Doomsword". Bajo ese nombre han editado 5 discos de estudio, entre 1999 y 2011. Teóricamente siguen en activo bajo el sello "Dragonheart records", aunque como digo no dan señales de nuevo material desde 2011. Hoy quiero dejar una canción en el blog de su cuarta obra de estudio, "My name will live on", de 2007, en concreto la canción "Steel of my axe", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
