Canciones para una vida - Berzerker Legion - Of Blood And Ash

OF  BLOOD  AND  ASH

Un poquito de death melódico a cargo hoy de la banda internacional europea Berzerker Legion, un contundente combo que comienza su andadura como banda en 2016 y que en todo este tiempo de actividad han editado dos LP's de estudio (2020 y 2023). La banda la componen músicos con un largo recorrido en bandas en su carrera, así pues se trata de un proyecto que puede considerarse de garantía, con proyección y calidad. Canciones para una vida - Pirate Hymn - Storm Wind Riders

STORM  WIND  RIDERS

Ademas de acertados estos polacos han cogido una inercia compositiva realmente destacable, formados en 2017 han editado ya cuatro LP's de estudio más un EP en ese periodo de tiempo, en una clave de heavy power con un aire folk corsario. El último de sus discos lleva por título "Explorer", publicado en enero de este 2024, uno de los que muestran ese influjo Runningwildiano, melodías enganchonas continuas, y ese ritmo que se mete en la cabeza, por ejemplo también en su canción "Storm Wind Riders", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Unleash The Archers - Northwest Passage

NORTHWEST  PASSAGE

Los canadienses Unleash The Archers necesitan a estas alturas de muy poca presentación, y a pesar de que llevan ya una carrera imparable tampoco es que lleven tantísimos años en activo, (desde 2007), pero su crecimiento constante y su evolución sonora les ha ido haciendo cada vez más queridos entre los metalheads de todo el planeta. La banda ha ido dejando poco a poco atrás el sonido death melódico en pos de una powerización que cada vez ha ido sumando más adeptos aejados de tesituras más extremas. A fecha de esta reseña seis son los LP's de estudio que conforman su discografía, el último de ellos de este 2024, a los que hay que añadir dos trabajos más en formato EP, (2012 y 2019), el segundo de ellos contiene dos versiones, una de las cuales "Northwest Passage" es el tema que dejo hoy en el blog, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Maule - Red Sonja

 

RED  SONJA

Otra nueva banda más, Maule, en este caso de la escuela canadiense, que también una vez más han escogido el sonido del heavy metal clásico para desarrollar su carrera, poderoso concepto rozando lo Speedico, un gustazo. Formados en 2017, debutaron en lo compositivo en 2022 con su primer y a fecha de esta reseña único LP de estudio "Maule", al que han dado continuidad con el EP "Kill em Maule" en este 2024. BLOODMOON

Kerrigan es una banda alemana, una vez más de reciente formación, que enmarca su sonido en el heavy metal, también con cierto regusto clásico, que a fecha de esta reseña han editado tan solo un único LP en 2023 "Bloodmoon". Formados en 2020 queda patente a pesar de ser el principio de su carrera que tienen el sonido, la ilusión y el potencial, como se puede juzgar por ejemplo a través de la canción que da nombre a su obra, "Bloodmoon", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Owlbear - Steel At My Side

STEEL  AT  MY  SIDE

Owlbear es una nueva banda estadounidense de reciente formación (2023), que practica un power - heavy metal que se acerca al concepto americano del estilo, con una temática centrada en el mundo fantástico, sobre todo de "dragones y mazmorras". De momento, y a fecha de esta reseña han editado solo un trabajo en formato LP, "Chaos to the realm" de 2023, al que ha venido a complementar el EP "Legends and lore" de este 2024, por lo que parece que la banda lo tiene muy claro en ese sentido. Canciones para una vida - Observers - Strange And Beautiful

 

STRANGE  AND  BEAUTIFUL

Los australianos Observers, son una banda de las que van directamente unidas a un nombre, Martin Kennedy, guitarrista y teclista, compositor y motor de este proyecto instrumental de reciente formación (2023), y que en este 2024 ha visto publicar sus dos primeros trabajos en formato LP. El primero de ellos lleva por título "The age of the machine entities", obra inspirada según su creador en la película de Stanley Kubrick 2001, así pues ese componente espacial está presente en la mente compositiva del músico. Como digo el material de la banda es de caracter instrumental intentando darle a la obra un caracter melódico al tiempo que un trasfondo oscuro, casi de vocación doom, y un innegable toque progresivo, interesante mezcla. RF Force es una banda brasileña de reciente formación que se centra en el sonido heavy metal con un claro regusto clásico. Creados en 2021, en 2022 editan su primer y a fecha de esta reseña único album en formato LP, "RF Force". La escena brasileña es otra de esas que parece estar muy activa con nuevos grupos, y la vertiente de bandas que quieren mantener la esencia viva del heavy metal de la vieja escuela está también representado en este país, por ejemplo con RF Force. De su LP homónimo dejo el tema "Old School Metal" a modo de declaración de intenciones de su sonido caracteríastico.

Canciones para una vida - Wolfheart - Grave

 

GRAVE

La maquinaria compositiva de los finlandeses Wolfheart no se detiene y desde 2013 en que se formaron han sido muy constantes a la hora de editar material de estudio llegando ya a siete LP's de estudio si contamos su nueva obra "Draconian Darkness" que verá la luz en este 2024, concretamente para primeros de septiembre. El grupo parece continuar ese concepto personal de death metal melódico que combina la potencia y la melodía, esa dualidad de luz y oscuridad antagónicos pero perfectamente complementarios. De la nueva obra dejo en el blog su adelanto "Grave", un tema destacado por la banda como uno de los que serán fijos para sus presentaciones en vivo, y el primero de los temas que compuso la banda y que les sirvió para marcar la senda compositiva de lo que sería la nueva obra. Canciones para una vida - Riot City - Eye Of The Jaguar

EYE  OF  THE  JAGUAR

Parece que la escena canadiense es muy propicia para este tipo de bandas, aquellas que basan su sonido en la vieja escuela y en la vertiente speedica del heavy metal, a juzgar por el gran número de ellas con esa procedencia y esa inclinación compositiva, en esta ocasión la banda Riot City, formada en 2011 pero que empieza a dar señales de vida compositiva en 2019 a través de su primer LP "Burn the night". En 2022 dieron continuidad a su carrera desde la perspectiva de editar música a través de su continuación en formato LP "Electric Elite". Así pues nada nuevo a la vista, pero si un buen guiño al sonido clásico, más leña al fuego de la resurrección del heavy metal de toda la vida en pleno siglo XXI, de su segundo LP quiero dejar en el blog hoy el tema que lo abre, "Eye of the jaguar" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Narnia - Angels Are Crying

ANGELS  ARE  CRYING

Que gran banda estos suecos, Narnia, veterano ya grupo que lleva desde 1996 perseverando en su heavy metal melódico - power metal de inspiración cristiana, y como buenos hijos de su escena natal poseedores de una limpieza productiva absoluta, salvo en el periodo 2010 - 2014 en que dejaron de estar en activo, han ido sacando material de forma continuada aunque desde 2014 con una reformación en lo que a músicos se refiere manteniendo el núcleo importante y el sonido mismo de la banda. 2023 fue el testigo de su última obra publicada que hacía el número nueve en sus LP's. Hoy quiero recuperar una de las canciones de su tercera obra de estudio, "Desert land" de 2001, en concreto "Angels are crying" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

SONS  OF  THE  SEA

Los españoles Orion Child con su power metal de corte europeo van dando pasos adelante en su carrera y llevan ya cuatro LP's de estudio desde que comenzasen su andadura musical, la verdad es que se antojan pocos teniendo en cuenta que llevan tocando desde 2003 si bien su primer material de estudio no vio la luz hasta 2010, sea como sea la banda ha demostrado con creces su calidad y en este 2024 hemos tenido muestra de su continuidad con su cuarto trabajo, sin embargo quiero hoy dejar en el blog uno de los temas que componen su tercera obra, "Continuum Fracture" de 2019, en concreto "Sons of the sea" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

ARCHAID  FLAME

8 son los LP's de estudio que la banda finlandesa Before The Dawn lleva a cuestas en su discografía, a los que deben sumarse otros cuatro EP's para completarla hasta la fecha de esta reseña. Hablamos de un death melódico de altísima calidad, siempre fieles a su propio criterio y su experiencia les hace uno de los pioneros en ese nicho sonoro, ya que llevan desde 1999 en activo. RUSTELOOS

Un poquito de folk metal de tintes épicos encarnado en los holandeses Vanaheim, un grupo de reciente formación que parece seguir la tradición de bandas europeas y holandesas del género. Formados en 2015 2022 fue testigo de su debut en formato LP ya que hasta la fecha solo habían editado dos obras en formato EP, (2017 y 2020), así pues una banda en pleno crecimiento y expansión. Como digo el sonido resultará familiar para todos los que gusten de los Heidevolk y compañía, y de su primer LP quiero dejar en el blog su canción "Rusteloos", un tema instrumental del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Frosttide - Warrior

 

WARRIOR

El otro día me puse a mirar como iba la carrera de los finalndeses Frosttide, ya que hacía bastante que no tenía noticias de ellos y la verdad es que me disgustó saber que han dejado de momento su continuidad en el aire, si bien es cierto que no han dado aún por terminado este proyecto en este tipo de casos las cosas no suelen terminar bien en lo que a continuidad se refiere, espero equivocarme ya que su sonido siempre ha sido muy de mi agrado, desde que en 2009 comenzasen, solo dos LP's de estudio dan forma a su carrera, (2013 y 2015), a los que sumar tres EP's más (2010, 2012 y 2018),siempre con su death melódico de intenciones folk, muy compatible con los grupos del tipo Ensiferum, Brymir, etc. Quiero hoy dejar en el blog el último material que nos han dejado, el single de 2022 "Warrior" que no viene sino a demostrar que por poder podrían seguir con todas las garantías ofreciendo música de calidad total, los tiros irán por otra parte imagino, dejo en el blog un enlace a youtube de este "Warrior".
