TO TAME A LAND
Siempre es una buena idea recurrir al material clásico de una banda tan grande como Iron Maiden, un grupo que sigue siendo algo más, aunque la época legendaria del grupo fue su primera década de existencia, con un inicio de 5 discos de estudio en cinco años de existencia, 1980-1984, a lo que si sumamos el "Live after death" en vivo del 85 y "Somewhere in time" de 1986 vemos como el inicio de su carrera fue una sucesión de obras, (y que obras) que choca frontalmente con el concepto moderno de la composición, lo que explica entre otras cuestiones el nombre que ha alcanzado la banda, su categoría de mito incluso cuando aún siguen en activo. Sin embargo, por otro lado, al hablar de un grupo con Iron Maiden parece que todo el mundo tiene una opinión al respecto, para lo bueno y para lo malo, aunque al final, de lo que no hay duda posible es de lo que arrastra simplemente su sola mención. Por algo será. De cualquier manera, muchos opinan que comenzaba la decadencia de la banda, algo que personalmente no comparto y no termino de entender, que empezase a evolucionar su sonido pase, pero criticar obras de semejante calibre me parece excesivo. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otra de las canciones de este "Piece of mind" de 1983, cuarto disco de la banda, en concreto "To tame a land", que cierra el disco, de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
