THE HUNTMASTER
Formados en 2004 bajo el nombre de Battleheart, tras sacar dos
EP's con dicha denominación despertando grandes expectativas, consiguen
firmar con la discográfica Napalm Records, con la "condición" de cambiar
de nombre a la banda ya que a juicio de la discográfica se parecía
demasiado al nombre de la banda Battlelore, también en ese mismo sello.
Deciden así cambiar su nombre por Alestorm en 2007, comenzando a editar
material de estudio bajo dicho nombre en 2008. Desde entonces, y hasta
la fecha de esta reseña, 4 discos de estudio y un EP dan forma a la
historia de este buen grupo caracterizado por su temática pirata. Hoy nos vamos a referir a su disco debut, "Captain Morgan's Revenge", de 2008, una obra que editan habiendo ya firmado por "Napalm Records" como decía al comienzo de la reseña, y con el apoyo de una gran discográfica desde luego todo resulta un poquito más sencillo, aunque siempre ha de existir la calidad, y desde luego eso es algo que creo que nadie dudará, igual que no lo hizo la citada discográfica y que desde luego les salió bien la jugada. Alestorm han demostrado que
han venido para quedarse y engrandecer el nicho musical poco
frecuentado del power metal con temática pirata abierto por los maestros
alemanes Running Wild, eso sí, con ese toque folk que les falta a los alemanes. Hoy quiero destacar el tema "The Huntmaster" de este disco, aunque toda la obra resulta muy sencilla de escuchar y sus temas con filo se meten pronto en tu cabeza demostrando el potencial que atesoraban, ya demostrado en obras posteriores.
