Canciones para una vida - Blind Guardian - Valkyries

VALKYRIES

 Blind Guardian se formó en 1984 en Alemania, bajo el nombre de Lucifer's Heritage, con el que funcionaron hasta 1986, en que cambian a Blind Guardian. Los miembros fundadores fueron Hansi Kursch y Andre Olbrich, incorporándose al poco tiempo Thomen Stauch y Marcus Siepen. De ellos solo Thomen Stauch ha dejado la banda en 2005. Algunos otros músicos han pasado por el grupo y grandes colaboraciones como la de Kai Hansen, pero en general Blind Guardian han tenido mucha estabilidad en su formación. Influenciados por la literatura, (sobre todo Tolkien y Stephen King) y el cine, sus letras hacen referencia a esos temas y en ocasiones ayudan a la linea argumental de canciones de la banda o incluso de discos enteros. Tienen ya 10 discos de estudio, a cual mejor, lo que les ha creado un nombre entre los grupos internacionales más respetados dentro de nuestro mundillo. Hoy vamos hacia la parte más reciente de su producción musical al hablar de un disco que a mi personalmente me gusta mucho, se trata de su "At the edge of time", noveno larga duración de la banda y penúltimo disco de estudio hasta la fecha de esta reseña, una obra con todos los ingredientes de Blind Guardian, los de su era gloriosa, uno de sus últimas obras que para mi gusto más se acerca al sonido de sus obras míticas de los 90, un poco más alejado del casi speed metal de los 80 y más cercano al sonido sinfónico del siglo XXI, un buen equilibrio conseguido aquí por la banda alemana, un disco del que quiero hoy dejar otro tema, en esta ocasión  "Valkyries", un tema con todos los ingredientes "Blind Guardian" esperables, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Ancient Cross - The Queen Is Dead

THE QUEEN IS DEAD


Otra banda muy desconocida en el blog y de nuevo un grupo con una larga trayectoria como banda pero con una escasísima producción musical que en este caso se reduce a un único LP, el disco homónimo al nombre del grupo "Ancient Cross" de 2006. El grupo se forma en 1992 pero su actividad se desarrolla en su entorno local no despuntando internacionalmente a lo largo de los años. El concepto musical de estos estadounidenses es el heavy metal de toda la vida, aunque su única obra, como decía más arriba grabada en 2006, a pesar de ser de este siglo su concepto es más bien clásico. En cuestiones vocales nos encontramos con un cantante agresivo y crudo, que ayuda a la contundencia del concepto heavy metal del disco. Hay varios temas que pueden destacarse del disco pero a mi personalmente hay uno que me gusta más que el resto, este "The queen is dead" del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube. Altamente recomendable para los amantes del heavy metal ochentero de toda la vida.

Canciones para una vida - Sonata Arctica - My Land

MY  LAND

Sonata Arctica es uno de esos grupos que mueven a una legión de seguidores tras ellos, y es normal viendo la calidad de alguna de sus obras. Al hablar de estos finlandeses, siempre se recurre al primer disco, como punto comparativo de su obra, y eso también es normal, aunque en ocasiones pueda resultar injusto, pero es que una obra de semejante calibre es algo difícil de igualar, incluso para ellos, y eso en un grupo puede resultar una pesada losa para toda una carrera. Para mi gusto es un poco lo que les ha sucedido a Sonata Arctica, ya que el éxito les llego en este su primer disco, inmediatamente, y el nivel en él demostrado ha sido muy dificil de mantener. Si a esto añadimos la continua experimentación que parecen buscar con su sonido estos músicos, se entiende que, partiendo de la extraordinaria calidad que atesoran, vayan cosechando tanto apasionados defensores de su música como vehementes detractores de la misma. Yo, sinceramente no se que posición tomar, aunque con los últimos acontecimientos musicales en su carrera me temo que se me esta agotando la paciencia musical con ellos. Pero hoy quiero hacer referencia a la parte inicial de su carrera, y a su irrepetible "Ecliptica" de 1999, su primer larga duración. Sonata Arctica se forma en 1996, bajo el nombre de "Tricky Beans", haciendo una música en onda Hardrock - Pop, grabando solo un puñado de canciones. En 1999, con un estilo ya más influenciado por el power metal de grupos como "Stratovarius" cambian su nombre a "Sonata Arctica", editando su primer single "Unopened" que al instante les dio grandisimas críticas y muchas oportunidades, preludio de lo que sería su "Ecliptica", salido ese mismo año. En seguida se vio lo que sería la carrera de Sonata Arctica, con continuos EP's, singles y recopilaciones, así como directos. Desde luego han sido siempre un buen negocio, y han sabido venderse fenomenalmente bien siendo una buena máquina de hacer dinero, dicho sea sin malicia, me parece perfecto mientras se responda con discos de calidad, el problema viene cuando tu material no responde a las expectativas creadas. 8 discos de estudio han visto la luz bajo el nombre de Sonata Arctica, así como 4 EP's. Como decía antes, hoy quiero traer al blog su primer disco, el irrepetible "Ecliptica", un rotundo éxito a nivel mundial, y por motivos evidentes, las canciones a escoger, todas, difícil decidirse por una. Canciones para una vida - Cain's Offering - I Will Build You A Rome

I WILL BUILD YOU A ROME

Cain's Offering es una banda finlandesa que se crea en 2009 y que auna en una sola banda miembros de bandas finlandesas de primera línea tales como Stratovarius o Sonata Arctica, es por lo tanto esperable por una parte la calidad y por otra parte el tipo de sonido que podríamos encontrar en sus obras, pero han conseguido además darle un toque personal reconocible hasta la fecha en sus dos obras editadas.  Timo Kotipelto (vocalista de Stratovarius) y Jari Liimatainen (guitarrista de Sonata Arctica), son los motores que impulsan el proyecto, en principio acompañados por Jani Hurula a la batería, Jukka Koskinen al bajo (Wintersun, Norther), y Mikko Harkin a los teclados, (Kenziner, Sonata Arctica o Luca Turilli's Rhapsody). Para su segunda obra de 2015 sustituidos Koskinen por Kuhlberg al bajo y Harkin nada menos que por Jens Johansson a los teclados, (Stratovarius, Johansson, Kotipelto, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dio, Rainbow y un largo etc.). Por lo tanto vemos que a nivel curriculum la banda es todo un referente, al igual que musicalmente es innegable la calidad, otra cosa es que el estilo se adapte al gusto de todo el mundo, pero eso si, si lo tuyo es el power de corte europeo con referentes en bandas tipo Stratovarius esta banda te gustará.  Como digo hasta la fecha de esta reseña la banda ha editado solo dos discos de estudio, "Gather the Faithful" de 2009 y "Stormcrow" de 2015, del que hoy quiero dejar un tema en el blog, en concreto su canción "I will build you a Rome", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Hammerfall - Legacy Of Kings

LEGACY  OF  KINGS

 Hammerfall se forma en Suecia allá por 1993, y surge de una serie de circunstancias y alguna que otra casualidad. Por aquellos años el guitarrista Oscar Dronjak habia creado un grupo de death metal llamado "Desecrator" que pasó a llamarse "Ceremonial oath", y funcionaba en la escena underground. Cansado de su sonido decide darle un aire más heavy, para lo que se rodea de músicos de los incipientes "In Flames" y de los ya asentados "Dark tranquility". El grupo pasa a llamarse Hammerfall. Sin embargo, al tratarse de un proyecto paralelo de gran parte de la banda se dedican tan solo a tocar en locales y concursos de su zona. La inestabilidad de la banda era evidente, sin tiempo para ensayar lo necesario, hasta que la parte de la banda perteneciente a "Dark tranquility" abandona definitivamente Hammerfall. Más miembros de "In Flames" les sustituyen. Antes justo de su primer paso adelante hacia la fama, en un concurso local que ganarían, el vocalista que pasaría a ser frontman de la banda sería Joachin Cans, esto ya en 1996. Tras el exito cosechado enseguida firman su primer contrato discográfico y a los pocos meses su primer larga duración estaba ya escrito, el espectacular " Glory to the brave" de 1997, que vendió más de 100 000 copias y les aseguró un puesto en lo más alto de la escena power metal internacional. Desde entonces 9 discos de estudio más un EP han visto crecer la fama de este gran grupo sueco, que sin embargo ha estado por otra parte rodeado de polémicas casi desde su inicio. Adorado por unos y machacado por otros, parece no dejar indiferente. Acusados hasta la saciedad de hacer lo justito por mantener el cetro del power metal mundial, clonando su sonido una y otra vez sabiendo que es formula de éxito traducida a ventas y tirando de versiones de otros grupos, sobre todo de inicios y mediados de los 80 para tratar de llegar a más público. A mi personalmente me parece muy buen grupo, sobre todo en sus dos primeras obras. De este disco que hoy quiero dejar una canción, el "Legacy of kings" de 1998, podrias escoger todas las canciones sin miedo a confundirte, y hoy quiero dejar otra de ellas, en concreto el tema que da título a la obra, "Legacy of kings", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Dynazty - The Human Paradox

THE  HUMAN  PARADOX


Nuevo trabajo de los suecos Dynazty, "Titanic Mass", de este 2016, un disco recién salido hace tan solo tres o cuatro días. Dynazty es una banda sueca que hace un Hard Heavy Metal, formados en 2007, han editado hasta la fecha de esta reseña cinco discos de estudio.  La banda comienza con buen pie firmando enseguida con "StormVox Records", comenzando a editar material como decía antes en 2009, su primer larga duración "Bring The thunder", en el que ya mostraban su potencial. Este disco tuvo continuidad en su segundo LP "Knock you down", de 2011, que les sirve de confirmación y les empieza a poner en órbita, sobre todo en su Suecia natal donde se presentan al "Melodifestivalen 2011", un concurso que escoge a los representantes de Suecia para Eurovisión, por lo que la fama en su país iba en aumento. En 2012 editan su tercer LP, "Sultans of sin", repitiendo en el "Melodiefestivalen" de ese año. Ante el incremento en su repercusión, la banda firma por "Spinefarm Records", y ya en 2014, editan su cuarto LP "Renatus", un paso más adelante para no dejar lugar a dudas de su calidad indiscutible. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de su nuevo trabajo, concretamente su segundo single de adelanto, "The human paradox", del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su videoclip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Accept - I Wanna Be No Hero

I  WANNA  BE  NO  HERO


Volvemos a los inicios de esta gran banda teutona, con la obra "I`m a Rebel", de 1982. Ya hemos hablado en varias ocasiones de este grupazo en nuestro blog, y como ya dijimos Accept es uno de los primeros grandes grupos alemanes en esto del heavy,  junto con Scorpions. La banda se forma en 1968 pero funciona en la escena underground alemana durante al menos 8 años hasta que sacan la cabeza. Durante todo ese tiempo fueron conocidos como "Band X",  fundada por Udo Dirkscheneider a la voz, Michael Wagener a la guitarra y Dieter Rubach al bajo. Este grupo ha estado siempre marcado por constantes idas y venidas de sus componentes y por cambios continuos de formación. Así, ya en 1976, Udo cambia el nombre a la banda pasando a llamarse Accept y además sustituye al bajo y al guitarra por Peter Baltes y Wolf Hoffmann respectivamente, este último pieza clave en el sonido Accept a lo largo de toda su carrera. Accept graba su primer material titulado "Accept" en 1979, y desde entonces 14 discos de estudio más 5 EP's han visto la luz. A pesar de ser una cantidad respetable se antoja algo corta la producción musical mirando al tiempo en activo, pero hemos de tener en cuenta que se trata de una banda que se ha enfrentado a dos reuniones y a una enorme inestabilidad, lo que les da un mérito grande al seguir en activo. Su primer disco en estudio no les da el éxito esperado aun recibiendo buenas críticas. En 1980 sacan su segunda obra, "I'm a rebel" (un discazo para mi), y con ella ya empiezan a consechar seguidores dentro y fuera de Europa. Como particularidad de este disco diré que la canción que da titulo a la obra "I'm a Rebel" fue originalmente escrita para AC/DC, pero no fue nunca grabada por el grupo australiano siendo sin embargo el pasaporte para una de las primeras apariciones de Accept por TV. Siento debilidad por este disco y su siguiente obra "Breaker" por lo que solo puedo aconsejaros toda la obra (en ambos casos). Canciones para una vida - Helloween - Why

WHY

Otra obra más de Helloween en nuestro blog, en esta ocasión se trata de su sexta obra de estudio, "Master of the rings", de 1994, un disco que supone sin duda un punto de inflexión en la banda, un especie de renacimiento cuando parecían condenados a desaparecer. Por todos es sabido que este grupo ha ido cambiando interiormente en varias ocasiones. Si miramos su historia nos damos cuenta enseguida. Desde sus inicios, como una banda joven e impetuosa ya parecía haber varios puntos de vista diferentes y distintos intereses entre los miembros del grupo. Tras su rápido, incontestable e irrepetible éxito de los "Keeper", comienzan a hacerse reales los problemas entre los músicos, lo que terminaría desembocando en la salida de Kai Hansen del grupo, un primer golpe durísimo para el grupo. Desde ese momento hasta 1993 todo fue decayendo. Aun siendo sustituido por un excelente guitarrista y compositor como Roland Grapow, sin Hansen el peso compositivo del grupo recae en Weikath, Grosskopf y Kiske, del que siempre diré que para mi es un gran interprete, uno de los mejores, pero un pésimo compositor, y claro, el espíritu de Helloween se fue apagando obra tras obra. "Pink Bubbles go ape" es la primera obra sin Hansen y las ventas cayeron inmensamente. Las tensiones crecieron y la banda, tras su "Chamaleon" de 1993, y las críticas que sufre el disco de prensa especializada y público, estaba dividida en tres bandos que terminan con el despido de Kiske y Schwichtemberg. La banda necesitaba urgentemente una reactivación, sin cantante, batería ni discográfica ya que "EMI" rescinde el contrato con Helloween en base a las bajas ventas de sus dos últimos discos. Para buscar esa reactivación se contrata en funciones vocales a Andi Deris, frontman de Pink Cream 69, que tenía sus propias batallas internas en su banda, así como a Uli Kusch procedente de Gamma Ray. A pesar del distinto registro vocal de este cantante con Kiske, la banda da un giro más hacia el heavy que de ellos se esperaba, sin tantos inventos "poperos" de sus dos anteriores obras, sobre todo del "Chamaleon". El resultado es su "Master of the rings", que les sacó del abismo al que se habían asomado y les dio la oportunidad de crecer nuevamente como banda hasta alcanzar el estatus que habían perdido en tan solo un par de años. Centrándonos en el disco que nos ocupa, este "Master of the rings", como digo de 1994, es un disco que les devuelve al sonido clásico de la banda, y la aportación compositiva de Deris es fundamental, provocando un rejuvenecimiento compositivo en Weikath y Grosskopff, que, unido al buen hacer del gran Grapow, hacen que parezca ser el disco sucesor de los "Keeper", echándose de menos en menor medida la ausencia de Hansen tras las canciones. Los temas recomendables de esta obra son todos, la verdad, haciendo de este disco uno de esos que merece la pena comprarse. Canciones para una vida - Stratovarius - We Hold The Key

WE HOLD THE KEY


Cuarta obra, "Fourth Dimension", de 1995, de estos finlandeses de los que ya hemos hablado en el blog. Como ya dije, dos grandes nombres han marcado la historia de este grupo, Timo Tolkki a la guitarra y Timo Kotipelto a la voz, a pesar de que ninguno de ellos fuera miembro fundador de la banda. El primero de ambos que se incorporó fue Tolkki muy al principio tocando desde la primera obra de estudio y ocupándose de las funciones de vocalista también en los tres primeros discos. Esta cuarta obra de estudio, de 1995, marca el comienzo del cantante Timo Kotipelto, lo que supone un punto de inflexión en el grupo. Con Tolkki centrado en la composición y con la mayor y mejor capacidad vocal de Kotipelto, desde este disco la banda no hizo más que crecer, y ya se nota en este disco, donde las composiciones son más cuidadas y la interpretación a cargo de la portentosa voz de kotipelto es perfecta. Como contrapartida, la nueva dirección musical propuesta hizo que Tuomo Lassila (Batería) y Antti Ikonen (Teclista) salieran de la banda, abriendo a su vez sitio a dos grandes músicos, los primeros no finlandeses en integrarla, el teclísta Jens Johansson (sueco), y el batería Jorg Michael (alemán), (casi nada...). Los temas comienzan a llevar la dirección que tendrían en los siguientes y exitosos años que vendrían para la banda. El disco "Fourth dimension" tiene muy buenos temas, algunos muy "peculiares" como el raro pero enganchón "030366". Hoy quiero dejar el tema "We hold the key" que ya repetía la estructura musical que llevaría a la banda a sus más altas cotas de popularidad y ventas, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Kalmah - Heroes To Us

HEROES  TO  US

Vamos con otra de esas bandas en las que la calidad no se cuestiona porque es evidente que la tienen, se trata de los finlandeses "Kalmah", una banda que hace un death melódico de primera. El grupo se crea en 1991 bajo el nombre de "Ancestor" con el que funcionan hasta 1998, funcionando a base de demos durante esos años. Al no terminar de arrancar como proyecto y tras el paso de muchos miembros por la banda, sobre todo en el puesto de bajista, la banda decide desintegrarse, pero de la base de "Ancestor", con los hermanos Kokko a la guitarra, se reforma el grupo y se le da nuevo nombre, "Kalmah", que en idioma Carelio, una lengua finesa de la región de Carelia, significa "hasta la muerte". Y realmente les va que ni pintado por su sonido cañero y contundente y la larga trayectoria que ya van demostrando desde su reformación como "Kalmah". En ese periodo desde 1998 hasta hoy en día han editado 7 LP's en los que se pueden descubrir grandes temas y discos muy completos si tu gusto es el death melódico, con una cierta influencia desde el power metal, el thrash o incluso elementos neoclásicos que hacen de su música una bonita amalgama de sonidos en los que hay también arreglos sinfónicos y continuas melodías de teclado. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de su tercer LP "Swampsong", de 2003, concretamente el que abre la obra, "Heroes to us" que demuestra más que sobradamente el potencial del grupo, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Nidhoeggr - Nach Der Schlacht

NACH  DER  SCHLACHT

Un poco ahora de folk death metal, el que realiza la banda suiza "Nidhoeggr", aún con un corto recorrido si que han ya demostrado en su material el fantástico futuro que parece esperarles si todo va bien. La banda se forma en 2009, y desde su formación han editado un EP "Ragnarok'n Roll" en 2013 y un LP, este "Nach der Schlacht" del que hoy quiero dejar un tema en el blog. Estamos ante una de esas bandas en las que la calidad no se cuestiona, puede agradar más o menos el estilo pero parece evidente que tienen el toque adecuado para ofrecer una carrera larga y de calidad, algo que la crítica especializada comenzó a reconocer muy desde el principio. Buena prueba de esto que digo es el tema que dejo hoy en el blog, que da título a su único LP hasta la fecha de esta reseña, "Nach der Schlacht", de 2015, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.  Absolutamente enganchona la música de esta buena banda que tiene las bases para llegar a cotas de calidad como las de bandas del calibre de Equilibrium, etc.

Canciones para una vida - Gloryhammer - Victorious Eagle Warfare

VICTORIOUS  EAGLE  WARFARE

Gloryhammer es un proyecto del cantante, compositor y teclista de la banda escocesa Alestorm Christopher Bowes, un proyecto encaminado mas hacia el power metal saliéndose del sonido folk pirata de su banda madre y acercándose para mi gusto al sonido de discos como el primero en solitario de Luca Turilli. Ya hemos hablado en el blog de su disco debut del que dejamos hace meses un tema , y hoy quiero traer su segundo LP, "Space 1992: Rise of the chaos wizards", un disco al que aún debo alguna escucha más en profundidad pero que descaradamente sigue las lineas generales de su anterior "Tales from the kingdom of Fife", aunque con una temática diferente pasando del ambiente lírico medieval al futurista y espacial escenario de turno, un cambio un tanto osado en lo que a estética se refiere, que no tanto a su sonido. Como antes decía referente al sonido que me recuerda al primer material de Luca Turilli, incluso si nos ponemos a mirar la segunda obra del guitarrista italiano en solitario vemos que este también salto de un medievo fantástico propio de sus compañeros "Rhapsody" en su primera obra, a un escenario espacial en la segunda.... parece un espejo en el que se esté mirando el bueno de Christopher Bowes, siguiendo la estela dejada hace ya década y media por Turilli.... si así fuese esperemos que se ponga a mirar hacia otro lugar viendo la deriva que el trabajo del guitarrista transalpino ha tomado desde los últimos 6 o 7 años, y que tampoco ese camino le lleve, (como si que hizo Turilli con Rhapsody), a abandonar a su banda madre Alestorm, sinceramente no creo... y espero... En definitiva vemos una linea musical muy en sintonía con su anterior y bastante bien tratado por crítica y público "Tales from the kingdom of Fife". Hoy quiero dejar otro de los temas de esta obra, "Space 1992: Rise of the chaos wizards", de este 2015, concretamente "Victorious Eagle Warfare", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Ensiferum - Warrior Without A War

WARRIOR WITHOUT A WAR

Volvemos a lo nuevo de Ensiferum, "One man army", sexto disco de estudio, salido hace tan solo unos meses. Como ya hemos dicho en nuestro blog de esta banda,  formados en 1995, funcionaron con demos hasta 2001 en que sacan su primer larga duración. Los dos primeros discos de estudio tenían al genial Jari Maempaa a la voz, (Ensiferum de 2001 y Iron de 2004), momento en que deja la banda para crear la también magnifica Wintersun, de la que hablaremos aquí. A partir de 2004 , Ensiferum se hace con los servicios de Petri Lidroos, que realizaba esa función en Norther, banda a la que también haremos referencia en este blog. Esta nueva obra de Ensiferum corrobora lo que ya veníamos intuyendo en su anterior disco "Unsung Heroes" de 2012, y es que su estilo, a pesar de permanecer similar en lo básico, si que ha sufrido una evolución. En general yo solo quiero decir que a mi personalmente me gustaba mucho más la música que hacían al principio, en sus tres primeras obras, sobre todo las dos con Maempaa en la banda, no se si su presencia tendrá mucho o no que decir, pero sus dos primeros discos son perfectos. Lo que ahora hacen no es que esté mal, ni mucho menos, pero al compararlo con esas dos obras a las que me refería uno siempre tiene la sensación de que le gustaría que sonasen un poco más así. En fin, hemos de darnos cuenta de que su sonido ha cambiado y disfrutar de su presente. Hoy quiero dejar otro de sus temas de su última obra, "One man army" del pasado 2015, en concreto "Warrior without a war", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Fferyllt - Defenders Of Tanelorn

DEFENDERS OF TANELORN

Fferyllt es un grupo ruso, con una ya cierta trayectoria en le escena internacional, aunque cuya repercusión no ha sido aún muy grande. Su sonido, autodenominado como "Sympho ethnic metal" podría catalogarse como un folk metal con aire céltico y death melódico y que alterna voces death masculinas y unas voces limpias femeninas un tanto operísticas en ocasiones y con una envoltura sinfónica, por lo tanto muchos matices diferentes son los que podemos encontrar en su música. Además en sus obras alternan canciones en ruso con temas en inglés y algunos interludios instrumentales gustando en ocasiones de hacer versiones de otras bandas bien conocidas. Fferyllt se forma en 2003 y desde su formación ha editado un total de 3 LP's y un EP. Se supone que en estos momentos se encuentran en un periodo de descanso tras la edición de su tercer larga duración, veremos como sigue la cosa en el futuro. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de su última obra editada, "Achanterez", de 2015, en concreto el tema "Defenders of Tanelorn", que a pesar de quizá no ser el tema más representativo pues en el solo encontramos la voz masculina , si resulta uno de los que más me gustan de toda la obra, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Aether Realm - The Chariot

THE  CHARIOT

 "Aether Realm" es una de esas sorpresas positivas musicalmente hablando que uno se lleva cuando rebusca entre la gran cantidad de grupos nuevos que surgen en el planeta intentando hacerse un hueco en el saturado mercado internacional. Lo primero que me sorprendió de esta buena banda cuando les escuché por vez primera al comienzo de su carrera, en 2011 con su EP "Odin will provide", fue su origen, pues me sorprendió que un sonido tan europeo de death folk realmente saliese de una banda estadounidense. Estos chicos de Carolina del Norte, suenan muy a norte de Europa, y eso es todo un piropo en mi forma de verlo. Con ciertas reminiscencias a bandas tipo Ensiferum o Brymir, aunque con un toque personal decidí seguir su andadura a partir de aquel EP. El grupo lo forman tres integrantes, Vincent Jones Bajista y cantante, Tyler Grisham Batería y Heinrich Arnold Guitarrista y cantante. La banda alterna las voces black con algunos momentos de voces limpias y hay siempre en sus canciones un ambiente muy melódico, con un cierto toque folk, muy Brymir, si conocéis al grupo, del que ya hemos hablado en este blog. Su concepto musical es como decía antes muy europeo, y su producción musical se limita de momento a un LP, "One chosen by the gods", de 2013, además del EP antes citado "Odin will provide", de 2011, así como dos singles "On line", "The magician" de 2013 y "The chariot" de 2015. Quiero dejar hoy en el blog otra canción de su último single, el último material editado hasta la fecha de esta reseña, "The Chariot", un tema que no hace sino confirmar el enorme potencial de la banda que al menos en mi despierta unas enormes ganas de escuchar su nuevo material que espero pronto esté por caer, un tema este "The chariot" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su videoclip, que comienza un poco "cinematográfico", hay que tener un minutillo y medio de paciencia para empezar a escuchar la música en sí.
