Canciones para una vida - Judicator - Gloria

GLORIA

La quinta obra de estudio de la banda estadounidense "Judicator" ya se ve en el horizonte cercano, (10 de julio de este 2020), y van desgranandose los primeros adelantos como era de esperar, e igualmente, como era de esperar siguen con ese concepto power metal más cercano a la escuela europea que a la americana a la que pertenecen. Como ya he dicho en anteriores entradas es posible que a ello contribuya el tono tan "Hansi Kursch" en muchas ocasiones de su cantante John Yelland. Veremos la magnitud de la obra en su conjunto al escucharla, de momento hoy dejo en el blog este adelanto "Gloria", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su Lyric Video oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Bloodbound - Bloodheads United

BLOODHEADS  UNITED

Los suecos "Bloodbound" se suman a la fórmula de promoción - venta, editando una canción nueva junto con cuatro temas en vivo para engrosar su discografía. De título, "Bloodheads united" estamos ante la perpetuación de la senda que parece que les ha hecho encontrar su sonido un tanto clónico al que es santo y seña de sus compatriotas Sabaton. En esta ocasión el diseño ha sido perfecto, con un tema totalmente coreable y compuesto para su presentación en directo y que mejor que hacerlo con cuatro temas más en ese formato, a través de este EP con nombre, (facilmente deducuble) del tema nuevo de estudio. Poco más que añadir, single en toda regla de esta banda que sigue sumando seguidores poco a poco y creandose una más que considerable discografía 100% para amantes del género power de corte europeo. Canciones para una vida - Mass - Metal Man

METAL  MAN

Volviendo una vez más a los orígenes mismos del sonido metálico hoy quiero repasar la escena alemana para encontrar a un grupo de los que tejieron los cimientos de lo que sería posteriormente una de las escenas más importantes de todas dentro de nuestro sonido, la alemana. Ya es conocido que en los comienzos esta escena estaba eclipsada por la británica a la que solo igualaba en cantidad y calidad la estadounidense como motores de por aquel entonces nuevo sonido del heavy metal. Pero si había bandas germanas importantes que tiraban del carro, por ejemplo "Scorpions". Por supuesto estoy hablando de mediados y finales de la década de los setenta. Entre los grupos que había en esa época y escena estaba "Mass", un grupo cuyo sonido era heavy metal del primigenio, con algunas influencias de rock en los comienzos de la banda que fueron evolucionando y que desarrollaron su sonido entre 1970 y 1987, para retomar su carrera desde 2017 en adelante. 9 LP's son los que conforman su discografía y de ellos hoy quiero traer al blog el sexto disco de estudio, "Metal Fighter" de 1983, una obra en la que, teniendo en cuenta los condicionamientos de la producción de la época y dicho contexto resulta ser un buen ejercicio de heavy metal clásico. Canciones para una vida - Rail - Fantasy

FANTASY

Segundo material editado por la banda estadounidense "Rail", quienes, tras su magnífico debut "Arrival" de 1980 esperaron cuatro años para editar nada nuevo, en este caso, como digo, este "Rail" en forma de EP con solo cuatro temas.Raro es que en esa época se esperase tanto para editar material nuevo entre discos, era un momento histórico musicalmente hablando en el que las bandas no tenían problemas para ir a disco por año o incluso a sacar dos obras dentro del mismo año. En este caso veníamos de un heavy metal un tanto a lo Judas de la época para evolucionar en este segundo esfuerzo hacia un sonido un tanto más influido por el sonido hard 'n heavy, siempre de alta calidad compositiva. Estamos ante otra banda de esas que pasaron desapercibidas, imagino que más por culpa de la saturación del mercado que por la evidente calidad que en este caso si que poseían. Sea como fuere, la banda terimaría por editar otro par de LP's en 1985 y 1997 antes de diluirse definitivamente. Hoy dejo una de las canciones de su EP "Rail", de 1984, donde demuestran de nuevo con sus cuatro temas que la calidad no era el problema. Canciones para una vida - Griffin - Heavy Metal Attack

HEAVY  METAL  ATTACK

Desde luego el título de la canción que he escogido para dejar hoy en el blog define perfectamente el espíritu de esta banda estadounidense que hoy traigo, "Griffin". Se trata de todo lo tantas veces expuesto en estas páginas virtuales, banda poco o nada reconocida, de mayor calidad de lo que tanto la producción como las ventas reconocen, de breve carrera casi toda ella desarrollada en la década de los ochenta, en esta ocasión con 2 LP's publicados. No por repetido el argumento deja de ser cierto, y a medida que uno investiga más, más se da cuenta de que este cliché es casi una constante de principio a fin. Canciones para una vida - Vanadium - Game Over

GAME  OVER

Ya en multiples ocasiones he comentado lo sucedido con la mayoría de las bandas de heavy metal de la década de los ochenta, y como, sobre todo en la primera mitad de dicha década, raro era que las bandas que descataban no procediesen, por ese orden, de Gran Bretaña, Estados Unidos o Alemania, poco, muy poquito quedaba del pastel para el resto de naciones, y desde luego, una de las canteras que por aquellos entonces no tenía tradición ni casi bandas era la italiana. El caso es que examinando la escena subterranea de muchas naciones europeas de la época encontramos en casi todas dignos ejemplos llenos de potencial, pero sea por tradición, por el añadido idiomático o por lo que quiera que sea, era realmente dificil ver destacar a alguno de los citados ejemplos. Pero como tantas veces ocurre y ocurrira, reconocimiento y calidad no son por fuerza hermanos, y una vez más eso ocurria con "Vanadium", la banda italiana que hoy traigo al blog. Desarrollaron su carrera entre 1979 y 1990, con un breve segundo intento entre 1995 y 1996, 7 LP's hablan de una producción musical respetable y su sonido era un hard'n heavy que optaba en alguna obras a un heavy metal clasicote y más que potable, como es el caso de este "Game Over" de 1984, la tercera de sus obras y de la que hoy quiero dejar ene l blog un enlace a youtube de la canción que da nombre a la obra.

Canciones para una vida - Gravestone - Break Out

BREAK  OUT

El enésimo resscate del sonido ochenterote en el blog, y los que vendrán, y es que al final los que nos hemos criado con este tipo de sonido siempre encontramos algo familiar en este tipo de bandas, como un sentirse en casa de nuevo, con ese descaro juvenil lleno de energía más que de limpieza productora, con esas enormes dosis de honestidad compositiva sin adornos que al final creo sinceramente que terminan envejeciendo mejor en la memoria que otro tipo de sonidos mucho más arreglados. Eso sí, siempre la melodía, algo que se muy agradacido para lograr perdurar. En esas estamos con los alemanes "Gravestone", que ya han pasado por aquí, y que a buen seguro regresarán en el futuro. Estos alemanes, teoricamente aún en activo pero que no han vuelto a dar señales compositivas desde el fin del la década de los 80, desarrolaron su producción discográfica pues entre 1979 y 1986, con 5 LP's de estudio de los que hoy quiero volver a traer el penúltimo, "Back to attack", en clave de un heavy metal en onda Accept, Judas y demás, obra mucho más que resultona y de la que dejo hoy el tema "Break Out", en una especie de medio tiempo del que dejo un enlace a youtube .

LONELY  NIGHTS

La época de finales de la década de los 80 fue uno de esos momentos en los que el sonido dentro del heavy se veía absolutamente influido por fórmulas hardrockeras, el sonido americano llenaba la escena internacional y eso repercutía en bandas nuevas y consolidadas, con aceptación para unos y rechazo para otros. Las bandas, independientemente de su origen se dejaban tentar por la promesa de ventas en el mercado estadounidense, e incluso bandas tan consolidadas como Accept, Saxon o Judas habían flirteado más o menos con la tendencia. Pero no todo eran grandes nombres, había como siempre muchos grupos metidos en la trinchera absolutamente desconocidos que apenas llegaron a sacar la cabeza, o ni siquiera, con trayectorias cortas pero no obligatoriamente carentes de calidad. Además la evolución del sonido, algo que ha pasado siempre y siempre pasará, tenía diferentes graduaciones, mezclando tendencias a gusto del artísta. En este caldo de cultivo nacio y murió la banda alemana "Vamp", a la que hoy quiero referirme en el blog, un grupo "monodisco", con un hard 'n heavy muy de la época y muy recomendable, en una obra tan desconocida como llena de calidad y hasta variedad, que editó su única obra de estudio en 1989, este "The rich don't rock" del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog este "Lonely nights", un tanto al estilo Bonfire, con una construcción y ejecución vocal muy a "Europe", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Segundo adelanto del último trabajo del guitarrista alemán Axel Rudi Pell, la enésima confirmación de que su estilo es eterno, sin intenciones de cambio, un nicho sonoro en propiedad absoluta de este músico que sin embargo continúa su interminable discografía con paso firme, una variación más del mismo estilo cuyo nombre en esta ocasión es "Wings of the storm". Canciones para una vida - Axxis - Virus Of A Modern Time

VIRUS  OF  A  MODERN  TIME

La banda alemana Axxis aprovecha estos días para sacar a la luz material "nuevo" en forma de EP, con una temática en plena efervescencia muy de los días que desgraciadamente corren. Pudiera pensarse que es un intento por aprovechar el momento para editar material, pero, conociendo a estos chicos y su implicación nada más alejado de la realidad. Basta con ver a la banda en vivo para darse cuenta de la humanidad de estos músicos, de la sincera implicación que siempre imprimen a sus espectáculos en directo, lo cual casa con lo anteriormente dicho. El material , al que califiqué como "nuevo" (entrecomillado) es realmente una recuperación oportuna de un material compuesto en 2007 para un proyecto teatral que la banda desarrollo con cierto éxito sobre todo por parte de la crítica, y que en estos tiempos actuales cabe perfectamente. Es un EP editado de forma digital este recién pasado 10 de abril, ycompuesto por siete temas y del que hoy dejo en el blog el que da nombre a la obra, "Virus of a modern time", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial. Axxis, siempre una buena idea.

Canciones para una vida - Grave Digger - Thousand Tears

THOUSAND  TEARS

Segundo adelanto del nuevo disco de los alemanes "Grave Digger" cuya salida oficial se espera para el próximo mes de mayo, y que es una apuesta descarada por rememorar los tiempos de su aclamado "Tunes Of War", algo que en este segundo adelanto "Thousand tears" parece confirmarse en lo que resulta ser un guiño claro a "The ballad of mary" de la citada obra, en esta ocasión acompañados poruna de las voces de moda, la de "Noora Louhimo", conocida por su trabajo desde 2012 en Battle Beast sobre todo. Veremos la contundencia de la obra en su conjunto, la cual, así a través de estas primeras pinceladas parece prometer, al menos en mi humilde opinión. Canciones para una vida - Brothers Of Metal - Theft Of The Hammer

THEFT  OF  THE  HAMMER

Nada más que añadir a lo dicho en las anteriores entradas sobre la banda, o sobre la obra, lo que es indudable es que, personalmente, desde el inicio de la carrera de este grupo sueco me han entrado por el ojo derecho, me ha gustado mucho su concepto y su ejecución, ya demostradas desde la inicial autoproducción de su disco debut "prophecy of ragnarok" de 2017, que posteriormente se reeditara en 2019 tras la firma de la banda por una gran discográfica, (como no podía ser de otra manera), en esta ocasión AFM records, una buena elección, puesto que está claro el potencial, ya realidad, de esta banda que les encamina con paso firme y a poco que su carrera muestre solidez en el futuro, a encabezar muchos carteles de festivales en un futuro próximo. Sea como sea hoy quiero dejar en el blog la que no será la última canción que traiga al blog de su última obra de estudio, "Emblas Saga" del presente 2020, concretamente el tema "Theft of the hammer" otro más de los muchos que componen el disco y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

INFIDEL

Un magnifico ejemplo de como hacer heavy metal de la vieja escuela en los timepos que corren, con el sabor de la dorada época de los 80 y el sonido limpio actual son estos chicos suecos a los que ya he ido trayendo al blog en varias ocasiones y que han vuelto a lograrlo en este su tercer, y hasta la fecha de esta reseña, último LP editado, "Infidel" que viera la luz el pasado 13 de marzo del presente 2020. Esta banda alemana es una de las que puede presumir de una mayor productividad compositiva en forma de LP's, como demuestran sus 22 LP's de estudio editados hasta la fecha de esta reseña, a los que podríamos añadir el material editado en formato EP, con la nada desdeñable cantidad de 12. Entre tanto material es evidente que, sumando además la longeva carrera del grupo,encontraremos una evolución estilística, una mayor o menor afinidad a un disco en concreto o a una época en la banda en particular, pero siempre, como nexo común, encontramos el sello "Rage" en sus obras, que es sinónimo a decir el sello "Peavy" Wagner, catante, bajista y compositor además de único nexo común de todas las obras del grupo. Hoy quiero dejar otra de sus obras en el blog, en concreto del décimo quinto disco de estudio, "Unity", del que dejo una de sus canciones, "All I Want", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Iron Fire - Warriors Of Steel

WARRIORS  OF  STEEL

Un ejemplo más del magnífico trabajo que supuso el debut de esta banda danesa, "Iron Fire" de los que ya he hablado en el blog en alguna ocasión, y refiriendome además a este disco que considero seguramente el mejor de su discografía. La verdad es que la orientación compositiva de la banda ha ido cambiando, de una manera más acusada en la parte final de su carrera que se extiende ya por más más de veinte años, (desde 1995). Como decía su debut "Thunderstorm" data de 2000, y en esta obra encontramos el sonido típico de la época dentro del power metal de orientación europea, con una temática nórdico-viquinga, como no podía ser de otra manera dado el origen del grupo, y que como decía de la obra se trata de un disco que recomiendo en su conjunto, una gran obra de la que hoy dejo el tema "Warriors of steel", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
