ON  AND  ON

 De nuevo traigo a Raven al blog, una banda británica de esas que estuvo desde los inicios en la NWOBHM, y que vio como crecía la leyenda de un movimiento que terminó por globalizarse y cuyos ecos siguen llegando incluso a nuestros días. Estamos hoy ante el cuarto disco de estudio de la banda, "Stay Hard", de 1985, con un grupo que venía de crear discos de, hoy en día, reconocida calidad, porque realmente este grupo jamás ha sido tan bien considerado como merecen, sacaron su cuarto LP con la presión de igualar el listón puesto en sus tres primeros trabajos, y aunque quizá para la ocasión flojeasen un poco, sin embrago su nota final no debería bajar en ningún caso de notable. Irán en el futuro pasando sin duda alguna más de las obras de estos chicos y hoy quiero dejar una de las canciones de este "Stay Hard", en concreto el primero de los singles que nos dejó, "On and On", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Warrior - Defenders Of Creation

DEFENDERS  OF  CREATION

Practicamente todo es lo correcto al referirme a esta obra de los estadounidenses "Warrior", "Fighting for the earth" de 1985. La obra es uno de esos discos, más aún si tenemos en cuenta que fue el debut de la banda, que les debería haber catapultado a una larga carrera llena de éxitos, si hubiesen continuado por la misma senda y si hubiesen presentado consistencia compositiva, pero por desgracia no fue así, el grupo permaneció solo unos pocos años en activo en su primera época, (hasta 1987), y cuando retomaron su carrera (en 1991) les faltó la consistencia y, porque no, el "punch" del ilusionante comienzo. De cualquier manera nos dejaron una primera obra más que destacable, en una onda al heavy metal de la vieja escuela hija de la cantera de la que salió, un heavy metal "yankee" de muchos quilates en forma de una obra de la que ya he hablado con anterioridad en el blog y de la que hoy dejo otro de sus temas, en este caso "Defenders of creation", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Anthrax - Armed And Dangerous

ARMED  AND  DANGEROUS

 Otra vez de repaso, otra vez de repesca en la década por antonomasia en nuestro sonido (los 80), y de nuevo uno de los grandes en lo suyo, los estadounidenses Anthrax en la época inicial de su ya larga carrera, a la altura en esta ocasión de su segundo LP, allá por 1985, cuando aún en subgénero del thrash estaba en pañales y en plena explosión. Siempre he defendido a Anthrax, el considerado como menos fuerte de los cuatro más fuertes en el Thrash, y cuando nos remontamos a los inicios vemos que este grupo ha sido desde siempre un grupazo. Otro tema de los importantes del grupo para hoy, "Armed and dangerous", no te dejes engañar por el inicio si es que aún no lo has escuchado hasta hoy, porque en cuanto pisan el acelerador te pondrán los pelos de punta, un temazo del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Helloween - Invitation & Eagle Fly Free

INVITATION  &  EAGLE  FLY  FREE

 Si hay una obra que destaca entre todas, más que nada refiriéndome al heavy o power metal, por la aceptación general en toda la comunidad metálica, por la calidad indiscutible, por la importancia que tuvo en el desarrollo del estilo y por muchos otros motivos ese disco es el "Keeper 2" de Helloween. Es una de esas obras que resultan simplemente perfectas, en cada uno de sus temas, que sin duda practicamente todos podrían formar parte de un recopilatorio de lo mejor del año 1988. Para no caer más en la repetición dejaré hoy en el blog la quinta canción ya de este álbum, concretamente "Eagle fly free", otro de esos temas que forman parte de la banda sonora de la vida de muchos "metalheads", y de la que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Scanner - Galactos

GALACTOS

Siempre es buena idea el repaso a esos discos que han sabido envejecer con estilo, bien, demostrando a medida que van pasando las décadas la dimensión real de lo que se compuso para la ocasión, y esta obra de los alemanes Scanner es uno de esos discos que deben pasar a la historia por lo honestos, directos, fáciles de escuchar y de calidad en definitiva, más aún si tenemos en cuenta que estamos ante un debut. Ya he traído al blog esta obra en un par de ocasiones y a la banda en alguna ocasión más, por lo que no me repetiré más, tan solo dejar otra de las canciones de este "Hypertrace" de 1988, todo un discazo del que hoy dejo "Galactos", una canción que no aparecía en la versión inicial del disco y que posteriormente se añadió como bonus y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

THE  FRONT

Varias son las bandas que han acudido al nombre de "Striker" para desarrollar su carrera musical, y hoy quiero retornar a los canadienses, en su sexto ya LP de estudio, "Play to win", del pasado 2018. en apenas una década de carrera musical, (desde 2007), y con un sonido que se mueve entre el heavy metal y sus pinceladas hard modernas, siempre presumiendo de una producción impecable y de un enorme gusto compositivo que les ha llevado a crearse ya un cierto nombre en la escena internacional. Este sexto disco no es diferente, mostrando a unos músicos en plena forma y con hambre de seguir creciendo. Canciones para una vida - Judas Priest - Spectre

SPECTRE

Poco que añadir a lo dicho anteriormente sobre la obra o la banda, que por méritos propios se ha colocado en ese puesto que le corresponde entre los más altos de los más altos dentro de esto del heavy metal. Tan solo dejar otro de los temas que han hecho de este álbum, "Firepower" uno de los mejores para muchas publicaciones de todo 2018. El hecho de ser ya la cuarta canción de esa obra que dejo en el blog no puede sino confirmar que yo igualmente opino que es uno de los mejores disco del pasado año, y valga como ejemplo pues este otro botón, "Spectre", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial. Judas Priest, que más se puede decir.

Canciones para una vida - Impellitteri - Man Of War

MAN  OF  WAR

El último trabajo editado de la banda estadounidense liderada por el guitarrista virtuoso Chris Impellitteri, se titula "The nature of the beast", un disco editado en 2018 y que resulta ser el número 11 de la ya larga carrera de la banda que luce el nombre de su guitarrista. Una vez más, la portentosa voz de su cantante Rob Rock añade quilates al producto final que sigue sin duda alguna las líneas trazadas a lo largo de toda la carrera de la banda, vamos, que se reconoce al 100 % el sonido del grupo, en un ejercicio de continuidad de lo que puede esperarse de estos chicos. Siempre se guarda un pequeño espacio en los temas para el lucimiento "Shred" de Crhis aunque nunca haya pecado este guitarrista de pasarse en dicho apartado, pero esos instantes reconocibles de demostración de su capacidad técnica siguen y seguirán estando presentes.  Segunda canción de la última obra editada por los suizos "Eluveitie" que traigo al blog, un disco que en lineas generales me ha gustado más de lo que la banda venía grabando en las últimas ocasiones, con un cierto retorno a los orígenes, (sin exagerar), pero si en la buena línea. Canciones para una vida - Atlas Pain - Kia Kaha

KIA  KAHA

Redundando en lo dicho con anterioridad sobre esta banda, dejo hoy otra de las canciones de su último disco publicado, "Tales of a pathfinder" de este 2019. Se trata tan solo de su segundo larga duración, pero estos italianos han demostrado en su aún corta carrera musical que saben muy bien a quien quieren parecerse y el estilo que quieren tocar, ese death melódico y épico muy en la onda de "Equilibrium", y precisamente, este "Kia Kaha" que hoy dejo en el blog, su primer single de la citada segunda y última obra es una de esas canciones donde se refleja todo lo dicho, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Avalanch - The Flower In The Ice

THE  FLOWER  IN  THE  ICE

La vuelta a la senda compositiva de material nuevo bajo el nombre de Avalanch se ha hecho esperar pero finalmente ya está aquí. Se trata de la décimo tercera obra de estudio del grupo asturiano, como digo bajo el nombre de Avalanch, "El Secreto", y para la ocasión se ha editado una versión cantada en español y otra en inglés, "The Secret", posiblemente con la pretensión de una mayor repercusión en el mercado internacional, un acierto en mi humilde opinión. En lo sonoro vemos una obra muy cuidada en lo compositivo y con una producción también de buen nivel, y aunque no cuenten con apoyo de discográfica no repercute en absoluto en lo que uno podría esperar de una banda con una experiencia ya larga en esto de la música. 100 % sonido Avalanch, sin duda alguna una de las bandas españolas que más me agradan desde sus comienzos. dejo un enlace a youtube del clip oficial de la versión española de "The flower in the ice", "La flor en el hielo".

Canciones para una vida - TT Quick - Eye Of The Storm

EYE  OF  THE  STORM

Como siempre la dorada época de los ochenta es una fuente aparentemente inagotable de bandas y talentos en cada puesto dentro del heavy metal, fuente de influencias posteriores y fundamento por lo tanto de lo que vendría después, hasta nuestros días. Hoy quiero volver una vez más a esa década para volver igualmente a un grupo que ya he traído al blog con anterioridad, "TT Quick", un grupo estadounidense con un sonido muy heavy metal de la época, y a pesar de su origen americano en ocasiones con una propuesta más europea que la que le correspondería por origen. No repetiré lo ya dicho en el blog sobre el grupo, tan solo hacer notar la presencia en lo vocal de Mark Tornillo, bastante de moda tras hacerse con las riendas vocales de nada menos que Accept, y que estuvo igualmente al frente, en lo vocal, en TT Quick, a lo largo de los tres albumes de la banda. TRIUMPH  AND  DEATH  &  HEART  OF  STONE

La carrera tan prolífica del guitarrista y compositor Cederick Forsberg ha sido ya, en varias ocasiones, comentada en este blog, en su facilidad a la hora de crear proyectos diferentes y la gran cantidad de material en relativamente poco tiempo que compone para cada uno de dichos proyectos. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una canción de la última obra de uno de esos proyectos, en concreto del "Runningwildesco" Blazon Stone, que en este 2019 ha visto como se editaba su ya quinto LP em apenas 8 años desde su creación bajo ese nombre. Si ya conoces el material previo de esta banda ya sabrás lo que puedes esperar, si no es así te sorprenderá el sonido tan parecido a Running Wild. HEXED

 El décimo disco de estudio de los finlandeses "Children Of Bodom" está resultando ser una obra que muestra perfectamente el concepto musical de la banda, o lo que podríamos llamar un sonido acorde a lo que podría esperarse de ellos. Con un cierto retorno a la vertiente más melódica de la banda, encontramos una colección de temas que sin duda son de los que rápidamente se meten en la cabeza.Si parece haberse perdido para la ocasión un tanto la vena brutal, pero esa atmósfera Children Of Bodom esta completamente presente.  Un nuevo repaso al último trabajo de los estadounidenses Judicator, "The last emperor", editado el pasado 2018 nos sirve para, una vez más, redundar en la misma idea que acude a nuestra cabeza al enfrentarnos a material de este grupo, calidad, y un estilo power mucho más propio de la escena europea que de la americana de la que proceden. Un sonido europeo que se agudiza más aún al comparar inevitablemente la voz del cantante con la de uno de los grandes en dicho puesto, "Hansi Kursch" de Blind Guardian. Sirva como ejemplo del citado buen hacer otra de las canciones extraídas de la citada obra, "The queen of all cities", un tema de nueve minutos, del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
