Aprovechando el tirón de su debut, la buena acogida del lustroso power metal perfectamente diseñado con el apoyo de la discográfica que lo patrocina (AFM), la banda internacional "All for metal" ha comenzado este 2024 editando un par de singles para mantenerse en la retina del gran público y que no se considere su debut como algo puntual sino que "amenaza" la banda con seguir adelante. Se van desgranando temas de la nueva obra de los alemanes Hammer King, "Konig Und Kaiser" que verá la luz de forma oficial mañana mismo en el que será ya su sexto LP de estudio, fieles a su concepto sobre todo efectivo. El segundo de los adelantos de la mencionada obra lleva por título "The Devil Will I Do" y en ella la banda rinde homenaje a Monty Python en lo que ellos denominan como un himno de libertad y de resistencia. Es innegable que estos alemanes son una auténtica maquina de crear melodías, y a pesar de que muchas de sus canciones puedan parecerse no dejan de ser igualmente efectivas y eficaces. Canciones para una vida - Parth Gallen - Night's Watch

NIGHT'S  WATCH

Los brasileños Parth Gallen son una banda que ha tenido un recorrido extraño ya que su periodo de actividad se remonta a comienzos de los 2000, exactamente entre 2001 y 2005 un periodo en el que no editaron nada de manera oficial. Después en 2017 recopilan una serie de canciones de los viejos tiempos y en este 2024 han editado un EP "Burning Swans" que contiene alguno de esos temas, estamos hablando de ese power tan de finales de los 90 y comienzos de los 2000, con un aire ciertamente europeo, aunque no tanto a la vertiente sueca o nórdica como al concepto italiano por ejemplo. La verdad es que no queda del todo claro si la banda se ha vuelto a juntar o si solo han decidido editar algo de su material, sea como sea hoy dejo en el blog uno de esos temas, "Night's Watch" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Beowulf - Fantasy

 

FANTASY

Vamos con uno de los que podríamos llamar pioneros anónimos en esto del heavy metal, una demostración más de que además de la escena británica a comienzos de los ochenta y finales de los setenta había otras, sobre todo esta, la estadounidense, donde el heavy metal como tal se gestaba a través de miles de grupos que tenía las mismas inquietudes compositivas. En este caso hablo de un grupo de Los Angeles formado en 1976 y separado en 1980, en el mismo año en que editaron su único trabajo, son Beowulf, heavy metal primitivo, original, del recién nacido y por lo tanto sobre todo honesto. De este primer y único trabajo "Slice Of Life" de 1980 dejo hoy en el blog uno de sus temas, "Fantasy" del que dejo un enlace a youtube, otro desconocido pedacito de historia metálica.

ARVON  TUOMARI

Un poquito de folk death melódico en onda Ensiferum encarnado en los también finlandeses "Verikalpa" que en este 2024 editarán en apenas un mes su cuarto LP de estudio de título "Tuomio". Como es tradición en la banda las canciones están cantadas en su suomi natal y el aire folk épico está asegurado con las melodías y coros, como digo, y que se puede apreciar particularmente en este primer adelanto, muy en onda Ensiferum. Canciones para una vida - Ace Frehley - Cherry Medicine

CHERRY  MEDICINE

El estadounidense Ace Frehley sigue con su carrera en solitario, que comenzase primero como Frehley's Comet entre 1984 y 1989 tras su salida de Kiss en 1982, después como Ace Frehley entre 1989 y 1995 hasta su fugaz regreso a Kiss, que continuó con ese mismo nombre Ace Frehley tras su segunda salida de Kiss en 2002 y hasta la actualidad. El guitarrista ha bordeado los terrenos sonoros entre el heavy melódico y el hard rock a lo largo de sus 9 albumes de estudio al margen de Kiss, el último de ellos de este 2024 "10000 Volts", del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog uno de sus temas, "Cherry Medicine" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Black Widow - Blade Runner

BLADE  RUNNER

La escena ochentera belga resultó ser, además de ciertamente underground bastante prolífica y de calildad, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que todo lo que en esos años iniciales de la citada década no procediese de la escena británica o estadounidense era considerado una cosa exótica como mínimo, pero las escenas, sobre todo europeas, y en América la canadiense, iban cavando a lo suyo, en silencio, casi siempre sin reconocimiento, en la oscuridad del anonimato, pero creando grupos, bandas en no pocas ocasiones monodisco, que no encontraban los medios económicos para seguir ya que los compositivos quedaba claro que los llevaban de serie. Otro ejemplo el de estos belgas, "Black Widow", heavy metal de la vieja escuela, periodo de actividad entre 1980 y 1987, fruto compositivo su único album de estudio "Streetfighter" de 1984 y del que dejo hoy en el blog su tema "Blade Runner" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Noble Beast - On Wings Of Steel

ON  WINGS  OF  STEEL

Vamos con una banda norteamericana de esas que es una pena que no hayan editado más que un LP de estudio en su periodo de actividad entre 2007 y 2017, y aunque no se han declarado "disueltos" oficialmente la verdad es que no han dado más señales de vida compositiva desde 2014 y su citado primer y único LP "Noble Beast". Estamos ante un power metal de manual, bastante europeizado teniendo en cuenta sus origenes, con un cierto aire blindgaurdianesco, no en lo vocal, pero si en los coros. Canciones para una vida - Feuerschwanz - The Unholy Grail

THE  UNHOLY  GRAIL

Que magnifica decisión la de los germanos Feuerschwanz de dar un giro digamos más serio, más potente y metálico a su carrera, pues en los últimos años, sobre todo desde 2020, han ido en un imparable crecimiento, conquistando territorio nuevo a cada obra, y es que su calidad y esa mezcla personal de ingredientes logran que las hordas metálicas se rindan a sus encantos compositivos. En estos días estamos ante los primeros destellos de los que será un nuevo album publicado por la banda, en una demostración más del exito que van cosechando que les ha hecho plantearse la publicación de este album llamemoslo especial ya que aunque cuenta con un par de temas nuevos, su principal característica es contar con versiones propias en inglés, un paso más hacia la conquista planetaria, para ello cuentan además con colaboraciones especiales como en uno de esos temas nuevos "The Unholy Grail" donde Orden Ogan pone su granito de arena, temazo del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Barren Cross - Believe

 

BELIEVE

Los estadounidenses Barren Cross fueron uno de los exponentes del llamado white metal o metal cristiano, y fueron de los que desarrollaron temprano su carrera, desde comienzos de los 80. Se forman en 1983 y en 1985 editaban su primer material de estudio en forma de su EP "Believe". Realmente solo terminaron editando cuatro LP's de estudio a lo largo de su carrera aunque en alguno de sus momentos llegaron a acariciar el éxito en cierta medida. Desde 1994 hasta la actualidad en que en teoría siguen en activo no han editado nada más allá de algún recopilatorio. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog uno de los temas que componen su material debut, el EP Believe del que dejo hoy el tema que lo da nombre y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Aorta - Blood Pressure

BLOOD  PRESSURE

Escena germana, años ochenta, otra banda más que lo intentaba, en este caso bajo el nombre de Aorta, que curiosamente ha sido un nombre escogido por varias bandas para desarrollar una carrera o al menos intentarlo. En el caso de estos Aorta hablamos de un hard 'n heavy muy ochentero, una vez más hablamos de un grupo que solo editó un único LP de estudio, absolutamente digno de mención, muy prometedor de una hipotética larga y digna carrera que nunca se dio, y en este caso editaron un total de doce canciones de entre las que dejo el tema que da nombre a la obra de 1983 "Blood Pressure" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Sidequest - Fantasy

 

FANTASY

Desde Bélgica llega esta banda "Sidequest" un grupo de reciente formación que ha escogido el sendero del power metal pegajoso, melódico, de ese que deja claro que buscan la senda que tantas bandas de los 2000 recorrieron, un grupo que recuerda por ejemplo a Galderia. Como digo formados en 2020 han editado de momento, a fecha de esta reseña, un LP y un EP, y de este mencionado EP, "Sanctuary of Miscreants" de 2023 quiero dejar en el blog uno de sus temas, "Fantasy", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Deceiver - Children Of The Storm

CHILDREN  OF  THE  STORM

Otro repaso histórico para rescatar del olvido a otra banda anónima para casi todo el mundo pero un ejemplo más de lo que podría haber sido una carrera mucho más importante de haberse dado las circunstancias. Comienzos de los 90, escena alemana, y quizá esto en si mismo nos de una de las claves del por que del no despegue de este grupo en concreto, "Deceiver", (Uno de los muchos que intentaron desarrollar su carrera con este nombre). Como digo la clave puede estar en el tipo de sonido y la época en que lo crean, comienzos de los 90, quizá ese concepto tan ochentero llegaba un poco tarde, y además en esos momento la escena germana apuntaba hacia otros objetivos ,mucho más power, cosa que terminaría explotando algo más tarde. El caso es que Deceiver edito su único LP "Tales of time" en 1991, y de él quiero dejar en el blog una de sus canciones, "Children of the storm" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
