Segundo adelanto del que será el sexto LP de estudio de los suecos Veonity, que verá la luz de forma oficial el 18 de octubre y que tendrá por título "The Final Element". El título de este segundo single es "Riders of the revolution", un nuevo ejercicio de power de corte europeo muy en la onda de lo que debe ser ese sonido, sobre todo en la escuela sueca, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Hammerfall - Reveries

 

REVERIES

Tengo la sensación con los suecos Hammerfall que han atravesado por varias fases en su carrera, desde luego no tanto por lo que a composición se refiere ya que siempre han sido ( y así debe ser) bastante homogeneos a la hora de confeccionar obras, esta reflexión va más encaminada a la aceptación de la banda en general, inicios deslumbrantes, comiendose el mundo, sorprendiendo e onfluyendo, luego una época más criticada, precisamente por la homogeneidad al componer, y parece que, aguantando el temporal ahora están ya alcanzando ese momento en que nadie pretende ya que cambien su sonido y si te gustan defiendes cada obra nueva como procedente de una banda importante que marcó su senda hace ya mucho y que muchos han seguido tras ellos. Su penúltima obra "Hammer of dawn" dejo otro buen puñado de temas coreables como este "Reveries" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

VOICE  OF  THUNDER

Es curioso lo que ha decidido hacer la banda finlandesa Stratovarius en este 2024, editando dos EP's con apenas un mes de separación que unido habría dado de sobra para un LP, claro está que en las explicaciones posibles a tal cuestión nos hablarán de la temática, de que son canciones conceptuales y que debían ir en dos obras diferentes, aunque tal y como está el mundo hoy en día más lo veo yo como la oportunidad de sacarle más retabilidad a lo que habría sido un album vendiendolo como dos EP's diferentes, sea como sea es una buena noticia que la banda saque habitualmente material, sobre todo si suena tan "Stratovarius" como lo hace este Demand de agosto, cinco temas de entre los que hoy dejo en el blog "Voice of thunder", recuperado de su anterior trabajo de 2022, un tema como digo muy Stratovarius, también en el apartado de la duración, once minutos, todos los ingredientes necesarios se encuentra en esta salsa, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Rakester - Pirate Song

PIRATE  SONG

Otra banda más, otra banda nueva Rakester, de otra de esas canteras que últimamente está en franco crecimiento como es la polaca, con muchas bandas que tienen importancia internacional y muchas otras que tratan de seguir esa onda, como estos Rakester formados en 2020 y que en este 2024 editan su debut. Queda claro que hay puntos que mejorar pero también se ve ese potencial que con el tiempo pueden ir puliendo para llegar lejos. Su sentimiento es claramente el del heavy metal de la vieja escuela, se nota toda esa energía, esa mala leche y esa intención de hacer su sonido para ellos mismos. Su debut "Wanderer of time" ha visto la luz a primeros de este mes de septiembre y de él dejo en el blog su canción "Pirate song" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

BLACK  ABYSS

Nueva banda griega, que sigue reafirmando el excelente estado de forma del que goza dicha cantera, son ya muchos los años que llevan haciendo las cosas bien y eso se termina notando a la larga siempre, generaciones nuevas que ven la posibilidad de mirarse en los espejos de casa y creerse que pueden también ellos seguir ese sendero, los frutos son las muchas bandas que actualmente están continuando el legado griego, otra de ellas son estos "Mallevs", con un sonido de regusto a heavy metal clásico, que se formaron hace solo un par de años y que en este 2024 han editado su debut en formato LP a primeros de este mes de septiembre, por título lleva "The hammer" y de él dejo en el blog la canción "Black abyss" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

WAR  HEARTS

Parece que la banda italiana Frozen Crown acelera su proceso compositivo, casi tratando de consolidar la gran parte de su fromación que entró a formar parte de la banda en su anterior trabajo del pasado 2023. Hoy como mínimo se antoja como algo raro editar una obra por año, máxime cuando todos los esfuerzos compositivos están tan medidos para administrarse a "cucharaditas" y mantener el interés del gran público ante la descomunal oferta internacional actual. El caso es que en octubre verá la luz el quinto LP de la banda "War hearts" del que siguen adelantando temas, en esta ocasión el que dará nombre a la obra, "War hearts" y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Impellitteri - Out Of My Mind

OUT  OF  MY  MIND

Cuando una banda de las de siempre, músicos fundamentales en la trayectoria del heavy metal como movimiento general sacan nueva música es cuando te das cuenta de lo necesarios que son, que son parte de la banda sonora de tu vida aunque por culpa de un largo silencio les hubieras sacado de tu cabeza momentaneamente, son tantas bandas las que rondan por la cabeza de uno que parece no haber sitio para todas, pero todas son necesarias, unas más fundamentales que otras, pero todas bien recibidas. Impelliteri es uno de esos casos en que el heavy brilla, con músicos como el propio Chris Impelliteri y su shred guitarrero, o Rob Rock y su carismática voz historia viva del sonido que nos une, en este 2024, tras seis años de silencio compositivo editan nuevo material en forma de su duodécimo album de estudio, "War Machine" cuya salida oficial se espera para el 8 de noviembre, y cuyo adelanto "Out of my mind" deja claro su excelente momento, otro grupo que mantiene casi toda la banda intacta desde el comienzo a mediados de los ochenta, más allá de la incorporación para la obra del batería Paul Bostaph con una larga trayectoria detrás por otra parte, un tema de adelanto del que dejo un enlace a youtube, Impellitteri, otro clásico apuesta segura.

Canciones para una vida - Drakkar - Knife In The Dark

KNIFE  IN  THE  DARK

Los italianos Drakkar son dueños de una carrera bastante irregular, sobre todo en lo que se refiere a continuidad compositiva, ya que desde su formación hace ya casi tres décadas (1995) han publicado solamente siete albumes de estudio a los que añadir tres EP's, una carrera marcada por largos periodos de silencio a pesar de su buen hacer en general desde el comienzo de su carrera. Se mueven en el territorio del heavy power metal, nacidos en el lugar y el momento en que nacia también Rhapsody, sus comienzos menos sinfónicos que los de estos últimos si que se vieron un poco arrastrados a la comparación con ellos por las temáticas fantásticas en esa explosión de grupos italianos que apareció en ese momento y que se metió en ese mismo "saco", sin embargo Drakkar siempre demostró un concepto propio que han intentado mantener a lo largo de las décadas a pesar de su falta de constancia compositiva. En este 2024 editan su séptimo LP "Spread your wings" (30 de agosto), del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog su tema "Knife in the dark" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

THE  WAY  OF  THE  FIRE

Hablar de Jari Maempaa es hacerlo de uno de esos músicos extraordinarios, su trayectoria así lo demuestra, pero es también hacerlo de un músico que se sale de lo común, capaz de guardar silencio durante muchos años, perdido en su concepción de un nuevo album, para derrochar después en el mismo año una casi ingente cantidad de material no publicado coincidiendo con su triunfal victoria compositiva tras vencer a sus demonios interiores de la perfección a sus propios ojos. El resultado de Time II es por lo tanto mucho más profundo de lo que una sola obra en si misma lo es, ya que ha arrastrado una gran parte de su carrera con él y esa parte oculta ha visto la luz de golpe en este 2024. Centrandonos en la obra "Time II" supone la cuarta de Wintersun, la primera tras siete años de silencio desde su anterior disco y tras doce desde la primera parte de esta obra dividida en dos "Time", en lo compositivo desde luego hará las delicias de sus fieles, este músico es especial, no cabe duda, dejo de este esperado disco uno de sus temas, "The way of the fire" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Saint - Into The Kingdom

INTO  THE  KINGDOM

La banda estadounidense Saint es otro de esos casos de grupo que ha buscado una segunda temporada de actividad para desarrollar su carrera tras su primera época en los ochenta. Una vez más en su primer tramo de carrera dejaron un par de obras de excelente calidad, que quiza, no seguro, dejaron mayor repercusión tras su prematura separación que durante su periodo activo, ( su primera actividad se da entre 1982 y 1989). Más adelante, una década después se reactivan y con el cambio de siglo comienzan a editar material muy asiduamente hasta alcanzar un total de catorce LP's de estudio contando sus dos primeros discos (1986 y 1988) y el último "Immortalizer" de comienzos de agosto de este 2024. Siempre hablamos de un heavy metal de corte clásico, a veces con guiños al hard 'n heavy, de temática lírica cristiana y siempre con calidad y buen hacer compositivos. La banda alemana de folk metal Saltatio Mortis, sigue su camino en este 2024 con el disco "Finsterwatch" que vio la luz el pasado 31 de mayo, siendo ya su décimo tercer album de estudio desde su formación en 2000. VIVE  IMAGINACIÓN

La banda española "Valkyria" es una de las de nuestro panorama con mayor potencial, mayor crecimiento y que va cosechando gran reconocimiento dentro del subgénero del power metal hispano. Formados en 2014 han editado desde ese momento tres LP's de estudio, el último de ellos, "Indómito" en febrero de este 2024, con gran acogida de público y crítica. El último de los pasos que le queda a la banda por dar reside en el enfoque internacional a través de arrancarse a cantar en inglés lo que les abriría de par en par las puertas del gran público. THE  DARKEST  OF  TIMES

Varias han sido las bandas que han optado por el nombre de Tantrum para desarrollar su carrera musical, una de ellas estos británicos formados en 2014 y que hasta la fecha de esta reseña han editado un total de tres LP's de estudio incluyendo el reciente tercer album con fecha del 30 de agosto, y a los que sumar también tres trabajos más en formato EP. Hablamos de un sonido centrado en el heavy metal, de regusto clásico, bastante efectivo. Canciones para una vida - Timeless Fairytale - Emptyness

 

EMPTYNESS

Nuevo proyecto internacional que se formó en el pasado 2023 con músicos de Suecia, Dinamarca e Italia enmarcando su sonido en un power metal de corte europeo pero con un toque neoclásico, (un poco en una onda At Vance o Narnia de sus comienzos, así un cierto aire progresivo puede también verse en sus composiciones. Parece claro que ya en los tiempos que corren es complicado encontrar nada nuevo, sobre todo como algo totalmente nuevo, es más sencillo y aceptable remezclar conceptos para encontrar un camino propio. En este 2024 han editado su primer material de estudio en formato LP, hace tan solo un par de semanas (21 de agosto) y de él dejo en el blog uno de los temas que contiene, "Emptyness", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Los italianos Wind Rose son una de esas bandas que siempre captan mi atención con cada nueva obra, un grupo que ha crecido mucho en los últimos años con su giro hacia el universo de los enanos haciendo de ello su identidad, el toque ligero folk y la capacidad de crear melodías memorables ha logrado que su estatus internacional no haga sino elevarse. La nueva obra "Trollslayer" verá la luz de forma oficial a primeros de octubre y de ella dejan en estos días su segundo adelanto "To be a dwarf" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

LULLABY

Otro adelanto de lo nuevo de los suecos, la familia Johansson y amigos,Tungsten, "The grand inferno" que verá la luz de forma oficial a mediados de octubre. Se trata del tema "Lullaby" que parece perpetuar el sonido de costumbre de la banda con ese toque un tanto modernete, industrialillo a la vez que power. Siempre incluyen esos elementos tan característicos de la banda y siempre consiguen dar ese punto adictivo a sus composiciones. El título del nuevo single es "Lullaby" y de él dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Se acerca el momento para la publicación de la nueva obra de estudio de los suecos Eclipse, "Megalomanium II", concretamente para el 20 de septiembre. THE  FIFTH  ELEMENT

Los suecos Veonity son una de esas bandas que casi imperceptiblemente irrumpieron, "a lo suyo" en el panorama internacional (2013), y que poco a poco han ido mostrando calidad y buen hacer hasta conformar ya una respetable discografía de seis LP's de estudio si incluimos  "The Fifth element" que verá la luz de forma oficial el próximo 18 de octubre. Power metal de corte europeo, escuela sueca, sinónimo de producción cuidada y en general acierto compositivo a lo largo de toda su carrera.
