BATTLE OF THE GODS
Kotipelto es un proyecto en solitario del cantante de Stratovarius Timo Kotipelto, un proyecto que se crea en 2001 y que sigue en activo hasta la actualidad a pesar de que desde 2007 no ha editado nada bajo ese nombre. Su música es un power metal bastante en la linea de su banda madre "Stratovarius", y fue bien recibido en su Finlandia natal donde alcanzó una cierta notoriedad sobre todo con su primera obra de estudio "Waiting for the dawn", de 2002, un disco conceptual basado en el antiguo Egipto que resulta interesante, posiblemente su mejor obra en solitario. Desde luego con este proyecto en solitario no ha descubierto nada nuevo pero la calidad vocal de este músico es buen premio en si mismo para seguir su aventura musical en solitario. Su discografía la completan otras dos obras de estudio, "Coldness", 2004 y "Serenity", 2007. Se ha sabido rodear de buenos músicos en sus obras, algunos de la categoría de Jens Johansson (Teclados), con el que también ha puesto en marcha otro proyecto a parte de Stratovarius llamado "Cain's Offering" que en estos días ha visto la publicación de su segundo larga duración. Volviendo a la banda "Kotipelto", y a su primer disco "Waiting for the dawn", de 2002, quiero dejar hoy de esta obra un tema en el blog, en concreto "Battle of the gods", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
