DRAGON'S  GAZE 

Aeternia es una banda alemana de reciente formación que plantea un sonido a medio camino del heavy metal y el power, una propuesta con la que sin duda no van a inventar nada nuevo, de hecho ya casi todo está inventado, pero en la que muestran un sendero que comienzan en formato LP en este 2025 a través de su debut "Into the golden halls", cuya salida oficial se espera para mediados de octubre. Formados en 2020 ya dejaron su primera muestra compositiva en su EP "The Quest" de 2022, secundada ahora por el citado debut en formato LP del que dejo en el blog su adelanto "Dragon's Gaze" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Gladiators - Child Of The Dark - Canciones Para Una Vida

CHILD  OF  THE  DARK 

Desde comienzos de los 90, las bandas que empezaban y querían desarrollar su sonido al calor del heavy clásico se debían plantear como dar un giro a su sonido para no sonar desfasados, se había estado ya unos años huyendo del heavy metal de la vieja escuela, y la opción más lógica parecía enrolarse en el por entonces novedoso power metal, solo un par de cambios aquí y allá y realmente se tenía un concepto heavy pero más lustroso y vendible, avanzaba igualmente la tecnología y eso se notaba en cuestiones productivas. En ese caldo de cultivo surgen muchos grupos que con mejor o pero suerte lo intentaron, algunos muy desconocidos como estos alemanes, "Gladiators", formados en 1990 y que solo se mantuvieron en activo una década editando dos LP's de estudio a finales de los 90, (98 y 99). Su segundo LP, y a la postre el último llevaba por título "Bound To steel" y de él quiero dejar hoy ene l blog un enlace a youtube de una de sus canciones, "Child of the dark".

Outworld . Crown Of The Abyss - Canciones Para Una Vida

CROWN  OF  THE  ABYSS 

Sigue adelante la carrera de la banda uruguaya Outworld, un proyecto de un solo músico que se encarga de todo, un yo me lo guiso y yo me lo como que solo en los tiempos que corren, con la tecnología de su lado puede realmente llegar a ser real, un anhelo que muchos músicos décadas atrás hubiesen soñado y dificilmente podido realizar. El caso es que la banda va adquiriendo una identidad propia, resulta reconocible su propuesta y en no pocas veces eficaz. Tras cinco LP's en 2023, dos en 2024, en este 2025 editan "The age of dark" del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog la canción "Crown of the abyss" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Surgeon - Ehisme! / Watching You - Canciones Para Una Vida

EHISME! / WATCHING YOU 

Los alemanes Surgeon son una banda de las que se formaron en la década de los ochenta para desarrollar su carrera de forma breve aunque muy prometedora, es otro ejemplo más de banda victima de una saturada escena en el momento que en esa década veían mucho más dificil sacar la cabeza en tales circunstancias por la falta de medios técnicos y de promoción comparando con hoy en día, y que muchas bandas, a pesar de su citada calidad, no veían otra opción que desistir a los pocos años de comenzar. Edita Surgeon dos LP's de estudio, en 1988 y 1991, y del segundo de ellos dejo hoy en el blog su tema "Ehisme/Watching You" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Vamos de nuevo con los germanos Dominum, una de esas bandas a las que se les intuye desde el mismo principio de su carrera, que llegarán muy arriba, solo con lo mostrado ya, y es que desde su formación en 2022 han editado ya dos LP's de estudio y dos EP's, casi todo ese material en 2023 menos el segundo larga duarción "The dead don't die" en 2024, y del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog otro de sus temas, en concreto "Killed by life" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Ruffians - Fight For Your Life - Canciones Para Una Vida

FIGHT  FOR  YOUR  LIFE 

Vamos de nuevo con la enésima banda estadounidense con los parámetros siguientes, desconocida en general, dueña de un prometedor sonido en este caso dentro del heavy metal clásico en su versión melódica, con poco material publicado, evidentemente desarrollando su carrera en la década de los ochenta, (formados en 1982, activos hasta 1988) periodo en que publican un solo EP con seis temas en 1985 "Ruffians". Además es de las bandas que con el cambio de siglo lo vuelven a intentar reactivandose en 2004 y editando un LP en 2006. Lycanthro - Far Beyond The Walls - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

FAR  BEYOND  THE  WALLS 

Heavy metal de corte clásico, con reminiscencias heavy power desde canadá encarnado en la banda Lycanthro, un grupo proveniente de las cenizas de Death Wish que se forma en 2014 y que en 2016 cambian su nombre a Lycanthro, bajo el que han decidido desarrollar su carrera de momento hasta nuestros días y de momento también con dos LP's de estudio publicados, (2021 y 2025), adoptando como imagen corporativa a los hombres lobo y la temática general de sus canciones referente al mundo de la literatura de terror. Light Force - Battlezone - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

BATTLEZONE 

Escuela australiana de heavy metal de la old school, la enésima demostración de que el heavy metal en los ochenta estaba mucho más diversificado de lo que uno podría pensar a primera impresión. Estamos hablando de la banda Light Force, otra que cumple perfectamente con ese grupo de bandas muy desconocidas, con un periodo de actividad breve, con uno o dos discos (como es el caso), que desaparecen con la década (de los ochenta) o poco después. Formados en 1985, publican dos LP's de estudio, (1987 y 1989) antes de dejarlo en 1990. Como digo heavy metal de la old school, un tanto sonando a la NWOBHM. Hoy dejo de su debut de 1987 "Battlezone" el tema que daba nombre a la obra, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Bloodbound - Defenders Of Jerusalem - Canciones Para Una Vida

DEFENDERS  OF  JERUSALEM 

Con cada nueva obra de estos suecos me sucede lo mismo, es esa sensación de que imperceptiblemente han ido creciendo como banda, casi sin darse cuenta han desarrollado ya una larga carrera con 11 LP's en dos décadas, en su marco sonoro de europower, buscando una identidad propia que lentamente han ido alcanzando, sin inventar nada nuevo pero su punto fuerte parece residir en la constancia, son como esa gota que va cayendo y solo con la insistencia llega a ser una corriente de agua. El undécimo album de estudio de Bloodbound, "Field of swords" verá la luz de forma oficial a finales de noviembre de este 2025, y hoy dejo en el blog el adelanto "Defenders of Jerusalem" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Recon - Lost Soldier - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

 LOST  SOLDIER

De vuelta a la escena estadounidense, de vuelta también a la década de los ochenta, a las bandas con corto recorrido, nula prácticamente repercusión, pasión por el sonido clásico, de vuelta en definitiva a las raíces de nuevo para desempolvar hoy a "Recon", formado en 1987, con un solo LP de estudio "Behind the enemy lines" de 1990, y separados poco después de la publicación de la citada obra. Otro grupo con un intento de reactivación pero sin mucho recorrido entre 2001 y 2007 para publicar tan solo material en directo a modo recopilatorio. Es otra banda más de innegable potencial, ojo a la parte vocal, de las que quedaron en el olvido antes casi de que nadie las descubriese y de la que dejo hoy en el blog una de sus canciones, "Lost Soldier" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Ty Morn - Die Where We Stand - Canciones Para Una Vida

DIE  WHERE  WE  STAND 

Hace un par de días dejaba en el blog otro de los temas de esta banda británica, de su LP más nuevo para hacerlo hoy de nuevo pero de su primer LP, "Istor" de 2019, y es que resulta desde luego muy interesante la propuesta compositiva de la banda, heavy metal con un cierto componente épico, sin alardes ni arreglos, eficaz y desde luego prometedor respecto a lo que puede estar por venir en futuras obras que como decía en la anterior entrada sobre la banda, a juzgar por sus tiempos compositivos debería dar noticias de novedades en ese sentido proximamente. dejo un enlace a youtube de este tema "Die where we stand".

Bleak House - Rainbow Warrior - Canciones Para Una Vida

RAINBOW  WARRIOR 

Otra banda británica Bleak House, nacida en los setenta en esta ocasión, y que durante toda esa década fueron cambiando de nombre hasta en cuatro ocasiones, Rasputin (72-75), Rock Bottom (75 - 76), Ripper (76 - 77) y finalmente Bleak House desde 1977 en adenate, aunque igualmente se trata de una de esas bandas que apenas han dejado material grabado más allá de dos EP`s, (1980 y 1982). Sin embargo el grupo ha permanecido supuestamente en activo hasta nuestros días habiendo varios recopilatorios a lo largo de este siglo. En un estilo a medio camino del hard rock y el heavy metal de este grupo de la NWOBHM quiero dejar en el blog hoy una de las canciones de su EP debut de 1980, en concreto el tema "Rainbow warrior" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

LIFTING  THE  CURSE 

Tres años han pasado ya desde la publicación del segundo y a fecha de esta reseña, último LP de estudio del la banda británica Ty Morn, que es exactamente el mismo tiempo que pasó desde el debut del grupo en 2019 hasta su continuación en 2022. el caso es que esta interesante banda podría estar a punto de publicar algo nuevo a juzgar por la mencionada trayectoria, teniendo que seguir recurriendo al material publicado hasta la fecha mientras esperamos su siguiente paso, es buena excusa para recuperar algo de su material pasado, hoy, de su segundo LP, de 2022, "Last Villain Testament" recupero el tema "Lifting the curse", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Battle Beast - Angel Of Midnight - Canciones Para Una Vida

ANGEL  OF  MIDNIGHT

Taipan - Lady - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

LADY 

Los australianos Taipan son el enésimo ejemplo de banda ochentera que, con toda la ilusión, comienzan una carrera casi con la década para dejar tan solo unas pinceladas de lo que podrían haber desarrollado en otras circunstancias, e igualmente son ejemplo de banda que, tras su prematura disolución tan solo un lustro después de su formación (1982 - 1987), con apenas un par de EP's publicados (1982 y 1985), deciden reactivarse en este siglo para ya si publicar nuevo material en formato LP, (concretamente cuatro a fecha de esta reseña). Hablamos de heavy metal de la vieja escuela, concepto compositivo clásico, y hoy quiero recuperar su primer material, procedente de su EP debut de 1982 "Taipan/Breakout" para dejar en el blog la canción "Lady" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
