Poco a poco, la carrera de los germanos Terra Atlantica sigue adelante, bastante imperceptiblemente para la mayoría, y sin embargo obra tras obra van demostrando su propuesta cada vez más afilada, y en estos más de diez años de existencia desde 2014, este 2025 será testigo de la publicación de su cuarto LP de estudio "Oceans" que verá la luz de forma oficial este próximo 26 de septiembre. Los suecos Amon Amarth son otra de las bandas que adelantan un single en este 2025 que posiblemente vaya a formar parte de un nuevo LP del que aún no tengo constancia, pero a juzgar por los tres años que han pasado desde su anterior larga duración la hipótesis desde luego puede hacerse realidad ya que ese periodo de tiempo es el que vienen utilizando entre obra y obra. Geisha - You Got What It Takes - Canciones Para Una Vida

YOU  GOT  WHAT  IT  TAKES 

Los daneses Geisha son un ejemplo más de esas bandas que surgen en los ochenta y que en apenas unos años de existencia se diluyeron en la nada, eso si, habiendo dejado un solo LP como muestra de su existencia. En este caso su sonido era claramente un hibrido entre l heavy metal y el hard rock, con cierta imagen glam, hablamos de finales de los ochenta cuando editan su único disco "Phantasmagoria" de 1987. En ese momento tampoco la escena nórdica era la más prolífica pero ya en todo el planeta se extendía la fiebre del sonido metálico, también en una nación relativamente pequeña como la danesa que eso sí ya tenía exponentes como Pretty Maids que habían puesto el nombre de su país en el mapa metálico. De su único disco (de Geisha), quiero dejar hoy en el blog el tema que lo abre, con videoclip incluido, "You got what it takes" del que dejo un enlace a youtube del mencionado y pintoresco (como muy de esos años) clip oficial.

Sabaton - Lightning At The Gates - Canciones Para Una Vida

LIGHTNING  AT  THE  GATES 

"Legends" será el undécimo LP de estudio de los suecos Sabaton, el décimo tercero si contamos las versiones sinfónicas de sus dos últimas obras, y es que se trata desde luego de una de esas bandas que parecen la gallina de los huevos de oro, una máquina de generar beneficios para las discográficas que saben como nadie explotar cada posibilidad en ese sentido. Lleva ya la banda, en esa línea explotadora económica, unos cuantos singles a lo largo del año, Por no hablar de los EP's del pasado y anterior, y en este "Legends" se incluyen vaios de ellos, así que casi han descubierto la mitad de la nueva obra cuya salida se espera para el mes de octubre, dejo hoy en el blog otro de esos adelantos, "Lightning at the gates", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Stratovarius - Galaxies - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

GALAXIES 

Los finlandeses Stratovarius son una de esas bandas tan amadas como criticadas, siempre demasiado expuestos a las más variopintas opiniones, pero innegablemente son uno de los pioneros del auge y explosión del power finlandés de los noventa y los 2000, una banda demasiado importante como para no tenerla en cuenta pienses lo que pienses sobre ellos, luego, la evolución de su carrera les ha hecho propietarios de nuevas críticas, salidas de músicos como Tolkki o variaciones en sus conceptos... lo dicho, sujetos a tan enorme exposición muchas veces injusta, como suele ser el caso en estas circunstancias. En 1995 editaban su tercer LP de estudio "Fourth Dimension" el primero con Kotipelto a la voz, que sirve para terminar de explotar a nivel internacional antes de reinar unos años en el trono de los reyes del europower, de este disco dejo hoy en el blog su canción "Galaxies" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Dream Theater - Lie - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

LIE 

Hablar de Dream Theater es hacerlo de una banda no apta para todos los públicos, como en general sucede con el metal progresivo del que ellos son el máximo exponente, siempre compleja, su música requiere tiempo y dedicación para extraer todo el jugo, es de esos grupos que hay que escuchar, no poner de fondo. En 1994, su disco "awake" nacía con la presión de suceder al antológico "Images and words" de 1992, y para ello la banda solo emplearía un par de meses en su concepción tras la extensa gira mundial del citado antecedente compositivo, sería además, el último disco de estudio con Moore a los teclados antes de la llegada de Sherinian, una obra de la que dejo hoy en el blog otra de sus canciones, "Lie", todo un clásico de la banda del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Black Knight - Deceivers - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

DECEIVERS 

Desde Holanda nos llega la historia de una banda de esas veteranas pero al mismo tiempo nueva, es la vieja historia de un grupo formado a comienzos de los ochenta que por circunstancias se queda en silencio durante décadas si apenas dejar nada grabado, para en cierto momento reactivarse y sobre todo en los últimos años realmente comenzar una carrera que claramente podría haber tenido recorrido largo a juzgar por lo escuchado en sus obras. Son Black Knight, formados en 1982, activos hasta 2008, debutando en lo que a grabción de LP's se refiere en 1998, y que no verían continuidad ya que hasta 2007 no repetirían publicación con su segundo LP, luego separación hasta 2012 en que se reactivan editando dos LP's más 2020 y el cinco de julio pasado su cuarto LP, "The tower", del que quiero dejar en el blog hoy su canción "Deceivers", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Accept - Objection Overruled - Canciones Para Una Vida

OBJECTION  OVERRULED 

El regreso de UDO a Accept para su LP "Objection Overruled" de 1993, despertó gran expectación en la escena internacional sobre todo con el giro sonoro que presentó la banda en 1989 con su "Eat the heat" con David Reece a la voz, un disco que personalmente me parece mucho más que interesante y con temas espectaculares, aunque quizá no para que la banda que lo publicase se llamara Accept, era un nombre demasiado grande para la época y la obra en cuestión cambiaba el planteamiento compositivo demasiado, pero bueno esa será otra historia de la que hablaremos en otro momento, el caso es que UDO regresaba a casa y eso era al menos motivo de miradas generalizadas. Regreso al guión con la obra, que era la novena de la banda y de la que dejo hoy en el blog el tema que la daba nombre, "Objection Overruled" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  NUMBER  OF  THE  BEAST 

Vamos de nuevo con un disco icónico, de esos que simplemente tienen el beneplácito de toda la comunidad metálica, Iron Maiden The Number Of The Beast, primera obra de los británicos con Dickinson a la voz y sin duda punto definitivo de explosión de la banda a nivel internacional como mito en vida, estatus que gracias a obras como esta hoy en día poseen. Y que mejor canción para hoy que la que da nombre a la obra, "The number of the beast", indiscutiblemente considerado como uno de esos temas imprescindibles de la historia del heavy metal, y no por ser una de esas canciones más machacadas por todos deja de ser mejor o más efectiva, creo que es algo general que a pesar de ello cuando la escuchas algo se te sigue encendiendo por dentro, canción fundamental de la que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.

Va acercandose poco a poco la fecha de salida de la nueva obra de estudio de los finlandeses Amorphis ("Borderland" 26 de septiembre de este 2025), una de esas bandas seguro de vida absoluto, alcanzando un nivel ya casi de mito y que sigue aumentando su legion de seguidores obra tras obra. CAT  AND  MOUSE 

Desde el comienzo de su carrera, los estadounidenses Manilla Road parecían convencidos de mantener una senda propia, sin fijarse tanto en lo que les debería gustar a los demás al escuchar su música, como de lo que les gustaba a ellos al componerla, es de esas bandas que abrieron camino a pesar de sacrificar quizá una mayor recompensa económica, es heavy metal underground, clásico, de ese que alcanza más reconocimiento con el paso del tiempo creciendo su nombre tanto tiempo después de sus inicios más de lo que lo hizo al componer sus obras iniciales. Hoy quiero dejar una de sus canciones de su LP debut "Invasion" de 1980, en concreto "Cat and mouse" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

El 7 de julio ha visto la luz la segunda obra de estudio del grupo italiano Crystal Skull, o lo que es sinonimo Claudio Livera, alma mater y compositor interprete de casi todo, (menos la batería), dueño y señor del proyecto banda, enmarcado en ese power épico muy con el sello del sonido italiano en ese tipo de planteamientos.
