The Lightbringer Of Sweden - Heroes Of The Past - Canciones Para Una Vida

HEROES  OF  THE  PAST 

En 2017 se forma la banda sueca "The lightbringer of Sweden" en una clave de heavy power, procediendo de la escuela que lo hacen toda una garantía basada en su tradición sonora como nación, y una vez más la calidad está presente en una forma de hacer que al instante resulta muy familiar para los habituales del power de corte europeo. La banda, a fecha de esta reseña tiene dos Lp's de estudio, el debut "Rise of the beast" de 2020 y su segundo intento "The new world order" de 2023, y del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog una de sus canciones "Heroes of the past" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Tomb Of Giants - The Flame - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  FLAME 

Los alemanes Tomb Of Giants siguen dando pasos adelante en su carrera comenzada en 2013 a través de un EP "Holding the flame" que sale a la venta de forma oficial el día 25 de este mes de julio, tras sus dos LP publicados hasta la fecha (2017 y 2023). Con un sabor claramente clásico, el heavy metal que practican, es precisamente eso, sonido de la vieja escuela ni más ni menos, bien ejecutado y con efectiva composición, sobre todo si lo tuyo es el sonido de toda la vida. Vision Divine - Vision Divine - Canciones Para Una Vida

VISION  DIVINE 

La parte final de los noventa y el comienzo de los 2000 fue una de esas épocas doradas para el power en general, sobre todo el de tendencia u origen europeo, y particularmente la escena italiana tuvo un boom tras el éxito cosechado por Rhapsody y todas las bandas que surgieron en dicha escena en ese momento. La escena, que lo sabía, aprovechaba para explotar los nombres incipientes y asentados, era el momento de diversificar y aprovechar el tirón, y así surgen bandas como Vision Divine o Labyrith, donde Lione promocionaba directamente con el nombre y la calidad innegable de vocalista a lo que se unia la composición siempre acertada de Olaf Thorsen para crear un producto muy fácil de vender en el momento. el primer disco de Vision Divine de identico título se publica en 1999 y de él dejo hoy en el blog otro de sus temas, igualmente "Vision Divine" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Ensiferum - The Howl - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  HOWL 

De vuelta al noveno, y a fecha de esta reseña último LP de estudio de los finlandeses Ensiferum, "Winter Storm" de 2024, una obra que consolida definitivamente a la actual formación de la banda con esa incorporación vocal limpia que libera un poco a Petri de su trabajo, repartiendo las funciones vocales y abriendo el espectro para seguramente aumentar sus huestes de seguidores. En lo compositivo este último disco es muy Ensiferum, su sello está presente y mantiene la tradición del grupo. Segundo LP de estudio a la vista del grupo hungaro Burning Sun, que ya dejase un buen sabor de boca con su debut de 2023 "Wake of ashes". Turisas - Stand Up And Fight - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

STAND  UP  AND  FIGHT 

Turisas, o el misterio de una banda que desapareció sin dejar rastro cuando estaba muy alto entre la consideración de los amantes del death melódico de componente folk. Ya desde la salida de este disco que traigo hoy al blog, "Stand up and fight" allá por 2011, la crítica sacudió bastante a la banda por su cambio estilístico, o más bien por aumentar su accesibilidad al gran público, algo que se agudizaría en su cuarto y último LP dos años más tarde "Turisas2013". La verdad es que en esta ocasión su debut "Battle metal" resulta insuperable y cuando esto sucede, muchas veces las bandas parecen caer en una especie de lucha interna que en no pocas ocasiones termina por disolver a las bandas antes de tiempo, pero con Turisas exactamente no se que ha sucedido, desde 2024 consta su estatus como en pausa, pero doce años sin dar señales de vida compositiva son demasiados para tener esperanzas fundadas. Hoy quiero volver a su material publicado para recuperar el tema que dio nombre a su tercera obra, "Stand up and fight" de 2011, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Brymir - A Free Man's Path - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

 

A FREE  MAN'S  PATH 

Practicamente imposible encontrar este disco en original a precio asequible, la primera obra de los finlandeses Brymir es uno de esos discos que automáticamente me hizo seguirles desde que empezaron, un disco que ya hablaba de sus virtudes y que mostraba el potencial que luego han ido confirmando. Hablamos de "Breath fire to the sun" y hablamos de 2011, con temas como este "A free man's path" que dejo hoy en el blog.

Fullforce - Rain - Canciones Para Una Vida

  

RAIN

Nuevo vistazo a otra de esas bandas que nacieron con la idea de "supergrupo", colaboración de músicos de renombre, con esa sensación de que hiciesen lo que hiciesen debería sonar bien, algo que como concepto no debería darse por hecho, al final no solo se trata de talento, las luchas de egos, las expectativas o la variedad de planteamientos compositivos a veces incompatibles pueden cambiar la dirección de uno de estos proyectos, aunque al tratarse de músicos de calidad, esta se da por sentado y en este caso así fue sin duda, fue porque la banda - proyecto solo da para dos cartuchos, dos LP's (2011 y 2012) antes de diluirse, pero habiendo dejado su impronta a traves del trabajo realizado. Su primer intento "One" deja temas memorables como este "Rain" que dejo hoy en el blog a través de un enlace a youtube.

Duskmourn - The Herald And The Wanderer - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  HERALD  AND  THE  WANDERER 

Vamos con el último material de estudio publicado por los estadounidenses Duskmourn, una banda que en su momento deslumbrase dentro del sonido del death melódico con su impecable debut de 2014 "Legends", algo que después corroborarían con su segundo disco "Of shadows and flames" de 2017 y en general han mantenido el nivel también en el tercer trabajo "Fallen kings and rusted crowns" de 2021. Grave Digger - Bark To Hell - Canciones Para Una Vida

BARK  TO  HELL 

No es tradicionalmente la manera de Grave Digger, lo de la publicación de singles más allá de lo habitual en los casos en que se saca un disco nuevo, me refiero a esos singles sueltos, huerfanos de disco, que muchos grupos han cultivado a modo de permanencia en la retina del gran público, y que Grave Digger parece que ha descubierto hace poco y en este 2025 edita ya el segundo de ellos. De nuevo estamos ante una propuesta compositiva muy del principio de su carrera, una especie de vuelta a las raices alejandose de ese componente más power o incluso folk (por lo de las gaitas). Tragedian - Broken Dream - Canciones Para Una Vida

BROKEN  DREAM 

Ya va Tragedian, la banda alemana, cumpliendo años en activo, desde 2003 han pasado ya más de veinte años y la carrera del grupo, sin ser para nada reconocida a nivel global ni particularmente prolífica (cinco LP's de estudio en todo este tiempo), si que ha mostrado más de una vez el enorme potencial que atesoran desde el comienzo de su propuesta, con su power melódico de diseño europeo y no carente de velocidad, bien ejecutado y tecnicamente bien propuesto. Su última obra es de 2023 y hoy he querido regresar a su inicio, a través de su debut de 2008 "dreamscape", del que quiero dejar en el blog una de esas canciones cocinadas a fuego lento, pero llenas de energía, ese medio tiempo, balada, llamada "Broken Dream" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Reinforcer - Ice And Death - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

ICE  AND  DEATH 

Para este ya próximo 22 de agosto esta prevista la salida oficial a la venta del segundo trabajo de estudio en formato LP de los alemanes Reinforcer que tan buen sabor de boca dejaran en su debut de 2021. Los alemanes Angel Dust son otra de esas bandas que dejan el regusto en la boca de poder haber llegado a mucho más y haber dejado su carrera un tanto "abandonada" demasiado pronto, a pesar de que desde 2016 en adelante parecen haberse reactivado eso si, sin ningún material de estudio nuevo para certificarlo, es además una banda que ha evolucionado su sonido, desde un inicio con tintes más thrash hacia un sonido más power melódico a finales de su periodo compositivo, formados en 1984 su primer parón se produce en 1990, luego reactivación entre 1997 y 2011 y tras otro parón, reactivación de nuevo desde 2016 como decía más arriba, carrera por lo tanto irregular que de momento, a fecha de esta reseña ha dejado el fruto de seis LP's de estudio, el último de ellos de 2002, y hoy quiero resuperar una de las canciones de su cuarto disco "Bleed", de 1999, en una clave más power ya, concretamente la canción "Surrender?", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Lo de los alemanes Rage es algo digno de mención, una banda absolutamente constante, consistente, y aparentemente eterna, que tras cuatro décadas de actividad siguen proporcionando obras de estudio casi como un reloj, veinticinco Lp's de estudio, sin contar su material bajo el nombre de Avenger son prueba de lo dicho, este 2025 será testigo del vigésim quinto de estos albumes, "A new world rising" con fecha de publicación oficial para el 26 de septiembre, y del que ha adelantado ya el tema "Freedom" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
