Angel Dust - Surrender? - Canciones Para Una Vida

SURRENDER?

Los alemanes Angel Dust son otra de esas bandas que dejan el regusto en la boca de poder haber llegado a mucho más y haber dejado su carrera un tanto "abandonada" demasiado pronto, a pesar de que desde 2016 en adelante parecen haberse reactivado eso si, sin ningún material de estudio nuevo para certificarlo, es además una banda que ha evolucionado su sonido, desde un inicio con tintes más thrash hacia un sonido más power melódico a finales de su periodo compositivo, formados en 1984 su primer parón se produce en 1990, luego reactivación entre 1997 y 2011 y tras otro parón, reactivación de nuevo desde 2016 como decía más arriba, carrera por lo tanto irregular que de momento, a fecha de esta reseña ha dejado el fruto de seis LP's de estudio, el último de ellos de 2002, y hoy quiero resuperar una de las canciones de su cuarto disco "Bleed", de 1999, en una clave más power ya, concretamente la canción "Surrender?", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Thin Lizzy - Killer Without A Cause - Canciones Para Una Vida

KILLER  WITHOUT  A  CAUSE 

Los irlandeses Thin Lizzy son una banda importante, para muchos fundamental, para entender el comienzo y desarrollo del sonido heavy metal como tal, y esa importancia reside en su carrera en su conjunto, no es cuestión de una obra, de una canción, es toda una carrera consistente, un grupo currante, de los que impusieron su sonido y su influencia sobre otras bandas fue innegable. Formados en 1969, han ido atravesando periodos, que les ha llevado ha seguir hasta nuestros días con actividad intermitente a traves de seis décadas, que se dice pronto, y con un legado de trece LP's de estudio si contamos el LP acustico que editaron a comienzos de este 2025, aunque realmente no sacan material de estudio al uso desde 1983. Exelerate - The Madness - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  MADNESS 

Exelerate es una banda danesa formada en 2012, siendo uno de esos grupos que ha decidido tormarse con calma su carrera, algo que no tiene forzosamente que ser algo malo, sobre todo desde la perspectiva de la calidad, es más el perjuicio que le puede ocasionar a la banda no mantener la atención del gran publico que generalmente suele ser de memoria a corto plazo, más aún en bandas no consolidadas, aunque desde un punto de vista egoista por parte de la banda, si cuentas con más tiempo para sacar material también puedes diseñar tu sonido más escrupulosamente, atendiendo más al detalle. El caso es que en 2014 publican su primer material en formato EP para tener luego que esperar hasta 2023 para que publicasen su debut en formato LP "Exelerate". En este 2025, (para septiembre) está prevista la salida de su segundo LP "Hell for the helpless", del que nos han dejado ya su adelanto "The madness" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Tankard - For A Thousand Beers - Canciones Para Una Vida

FOR  A  THOUSAND  BEERS 

Raro sería hablar de esta banda sin mencionar en algún momento la palabra cerveza, así que directamente en el título ahí lo llevamos ya. Uno de los grandes grupos de thrash alemán, y no solo, una de esas bandas que han encontrado la fórmula y la han sabido exprimir para diseñar una larguísima carrera con ya 19 LP's de estudio, a fecha de esta reseña, con momentos memorables en su carrera pero con esa sensación, que me pasa también con Anthrax, de haber sido relegados a un segundo plano frente a sus compañeros entre los más grandes, y al igual que me pasa con Anthrax, de ambos cuartetos de bandas a ambos lados del charco, los grupos mencionados son los que más me han gustado siempre. Savatage, otra banda clásica, de innegable importancia estos estadounidenses, por su obra en sí, por la época en la que la desarrollan y por la influencia dejada para otras bandas. Otra figura imponente de la guitarra, uno de esos puristas, que flirteo con varios géneros, incluyendo su parte final más orientada al blues, pero con un inicio de carrera más que recomendable con ese sonido hard 'n heavy incluso y ese enorme gusto compositivo, es el irlandés Gary Moore. En una de esas cuestiones peculiares, graba su disco "Dirty Fingers" en 1980 para terminar publicándolo de forma oficial en Japón en 1983 y en Inglaterra y a nivel global en 1984, será su tercera obra de estudio en pleno sonido inicial de su carrera, un disco del que quiero dejar en el blog hoy una de sus canciones, "Lonely nights" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Scanner - Terrion - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

TERRION 

De vuelta hoy  a uno de esos discos que le acompañan a uno desde siempre y que a pesar de haber disfrutado desde el comienzo como lo que es, un auténtico discazo, siempre terminas por sorprenderte de la cantidad de gente que no conoce a la banda, evidentemente en el momento en que sacaron la obra, (1988) y en que se creó el grupo, (1986), la escena estaba en plena efervescencia, y no solo, también en pleno cambio, evolución, y bandas tardías en lo suyo, como los alemanes Scanner y su heavy speedico y melódico, llegaban un pelín tarde para aumentar su cupo de seguidores cuando la moda era ya engancharse a cuestiones más extremas como el thrash o a sonidos comerciales del otro lado del charco como el hard rock o los otros incipientes estilos y subgéneros, pero sea como fuere, la banda Scanner creo que siempre mereció más credito, mayor atención general, y la prueba es su debut "Hypertrace" que resulta ser una más que digna obra de sonido clásico acelerado que debería haberles abierto muchas más puertas de lo que lo hizo. Los belgas Fireforce llevan ya cuatro años de silencio desde su último LP de estudio, y en este 2025 han dado señales de vida compositiva a través del single "The battle of Ramadi". Y ya que hoy vamos de clásicos, vamos con otro más, como disco, banda y canción, los archiconocidos a nivel planetario Metallica, como han cambiado estos chicos, que pasada escuchar este su debut, un tema que nos ha acompañado a muchos a lo largo de nuestra vida y que sin duda es una de sus mejores obras en su conjunto, corria el año 1983 y estos también abrían camino en lo suyo, y con este discazo en concreto más si cabe, por la época y por las composiciones sin descartes, que vamos a decir a estas alturas de la banda y de la obra, así que sin más dejo en el blog el temazo "The Four horsemen" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
