Under Ruins - Moonlit Requiem - Canciones Para Una Vida

MOONLIT  REQUIEM 

Interesante banda germana de reciente formación, Under Ruins, creada en 2023, y que en este 2025 deja su debut en formato LP "Age of the void" publicado el pasado 2 de mayo. Hablamos de una propuesta que bebe de varias influencias, al final es una suerte de heavy power pero con un cierto aire progresivo que también muestran en la longitud media de sus canciones, con una presentación vocal en ocasiones muy americana, un grupo al que prestar atención, por lo hecho, por lo que prometen y por la atención extra que pueden requerir en esa propuesta más progresiva que queda patente por ejemplo en este "Moonlit Requiem" cocinado un poco a medio gas, tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

WELCOME  TWILIGHT 

Este 2025 ha sido testigo de la publicación del décimo album de estudio de la banda italiana Labyrinth, uno de esos grupos clásicos que ha dejado importantes capítulos en la historia de nuestra música. La figura musical de Olaf Thorsen (Carlo Andrea Magnani), ha estado siempre tras las composiciones del grupo, siendo motor innegable del mismo a lo largo del tiempo, tarea esta que ha complementadp con Vision Divine casi desde el inicio, y ultimamente con Shinning Black. Then Comes The Night - Headbangers Heaven - Canciones Para Una Vida

HEADBANGERS  HEAVEN

Los alemanes "Then Comes The Night" son una banda de las que es dificil encasillar en un solo género, siempre melódicos saltan a un lado y otro del hard rock y el heavy para crear una propuesta personal desde su formación en 2019. En ese tiempo tres han sido los LP's publicados a los que añadir un EP inicial. Gloryhammer - On A Quest For Aberdeen - Canciones Para Una Vida

ON  A  QUEST  FOR  ABERDEEN 

Desde su último LP en 2023 "return of the kingdom of Fife" los escoceses Gloryhammer han editado un single "individual" por año, y en este 2025 el tema es "On a quest for Aberdeen" que hoy quiero dejar en el blog. Parece que el proyecto, ya banda por méritos propios, no se ha resentido de la salida de su anterior cantante y con el nuevo "Angus McFife" parecen seguir produciendo canciones de primer nivel que en breve esperemos sean el preludio de una nueva obra, por el momento dejo un enlace a youtube de este "On a quest for Aberdeen".

Axel Rudi Pell - Eternal Prisioner - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

ETERNAL  PRISIONER 

Si diferenciamos la carrera de Axel Rudi Pell en solitario teniendo en cuenta sus cantantes, tenemos tres épocas a las que hacer mención, si no contamos la de Charlie Huhn que solo cantó en su primera obra, así, 90-91 para Rob Rock, que también cantaría solo en su segunda obra, Jeff Scott Soto lo haría entre 1992 y 1997, con obras francamente reseñables, para mi gusto la mejor de ese periodo "Black Moon Pyramid", y luego entre 1998 y la actualidad Jhonny Gioeli, ex de Hardline y ya un icono del sonido Pell tanto casi como el propio Axel y su inconfundible guitarra. Hoy quiero rescatar otra de las obras de prolífico músico, la primera de la época Soto a la voz, "Eternal Prisioner" de 1992, acompañado además por otros grandes nombres como Jorg Michael a la batería, y de esa obra dejo hoy el tema que la da nombre, "Eternal Prisioner" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Octavo ya album de estudio para los escoceses Alestorm este "The Thunderfist chronicles" cuya salida oficial se espera para este 20 de junio, lejos va quedando ya sus inicios en 2007 y su crecimiento como referente internacional ha sido tremendo. El sonido de sus obras ha sido desde el inicio de su carrera muy reconocible, siempre con ese componente irreverente y un tanto guarrete que se ha convertido en su seña de identidad. Fatal Violence - Eye Of The Storm - Canciones Para Una Vida

EYE  OF  THE  STORM 

 

Vamos hoy con un rescate de esos de los ochenta, otra banda más de las que quedaron sepultadas en el olvido sin ir más allá de unas demos que sin dudarlo hablaban de un potencial enorme que apenas pudo ser demostrado, son los estadounidenses Fatal Violence que permanecieron en activo entre 1984 y 1989, siendo una de esas bandas que posteriormente, en 2008, recopilaron el material de sus dos demos en un disco llamemos "postumo" al que pertenece la portada que comienza esta reseña. La banda realmente tenía todo para haber hecho algo grande, no es un tema, son muchos de sus demos, imaginemos el potencial al desarrollar una carrera de décadas. Un buen ejemplo es el tema que dejo en el blog hoy, "Eye of the storm", con un innegable aire a los primeros, primerísimos Queensryche, o incluso a los Fates Warning iniciales, sea como sea hablamos de nivelazo compositivo e interpretativo más incluso si pensamos en un nivel productivo de demos, imaginate esto grabado hoy en día, sería algo serio. TEAR  IT  DOWN

Vamos de nuevo con lo último de los suecos H.E.A.T., "Welcome to the future" del presente 2025 (25 de abril), séptimo album de estudio de la banda, que en líneas generales continúa la línea ascendente del grupo que alcanza obra tras obra. Hablamos de ese hard rock moderno, pegadizo, absolutamente bien producido y que en la escuela sueca ha alcanzado sus cotas más elevadas a través de ellos y otro buen puñado de bandas. Se trata de un sonido absolutamente diseñado en ese nicho sonoro del hard rock pero con una poderosa producción que vigoriza el concepto también reforzado con ese corito muy hard ´n heavy. Asterise - Drifting into Darkness - Canciones Para Una Vida

DRIFTING  INTO  DARKNESS

Asterise, banda greco polaca, parece haber comenzado con buen pie su carrera musical iniciada allá por 2018 y que ha dado ya dos frutos en forma de LP, "Two worlds"  de 2022 y "Tale of a wandering soul" de 2024. Enmarcar su sonido es hacerlo en el power de corte europeo en un concepto muy "sueco" digamos, todo un piropo a mi entender, con un toque un tanto neoclásico en ocasiones. Silent Winter - Utopia - Canciones Para Una Vida

UTOPIA

Hagamos un nuevo asalto a la cada vez más fiable escena griega para reconocer en esta otra banda el excelente estado de salud de la citada escena. Son Silent Winter, un grupo formado en 1995 pero reactivado en 2018 fecha en la que comienzan a publicar material de estudio más allá de las demos iniciales de su carrera. The Storyteller - Tower Of Fear - Canciones Para Una Vida

TOWER  OF  FEAR

¿Por qué toda una década de silencio de este grupo?. Los suecos "The Storyteller" son una de esas bandas veteranas, (comenzaron allá por 1995), y desde el comienzo de su carrera llamaron la atención de muchos con su propuesta power neoclásica de extraordinaria calidad. El inicio de su carrera fue muy constante desde la publicación de su primera obra, y así entre 2000 y 2005 publican cuatro LP's que hacían presagiar una carrera que les podría llevar a la cima, pero en 2006 el grupo lo deja para retomar su actividad en 2011. Desde ese momento solo han publicado otros tres LP's de estudio si incluimos este "The fina Stand" de 2025 que llega tras una década de silencio compositivo desde su anterior obra, y siempre es lo mismo, cada disco fiel a su propuesta, lleno de calidad, habla de un grupo que podría llegar casi donde quisiera pero parece quedarse en un injusto a mi parecer, segundo plano respecto a otras bandas para nada mejores. Hoy quiero rescatar de este último trabajo otra de las canciones que lo componen, en concreto "Tower of fear" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Haunter - Before The Storm - Canciones Para Una Vida

BEFORE  THE  STORM

La escena brasileña sigue sacando bandas, (de todo tipo, interesantes como estos Haunter y otras digamos menos), la tradición del power brasileño se remonta a los inevitables Angra noventeros y Viper antes que ellos, y siempre marcaron la escena del país en ese sentido (power). Bien pudiesen los germanos Blind Guardian, haber esgrimido esa afirmación "I'm Alive" en aquel ya lejano 1995, para erigirse en uno de los adalides del por entonces en horas bajas heavy metal como tal, siendo uno de los defensores del concepto, un tanto powerizado eso sí, en la década de los noventa.
