PREACHER

Los germanos Dragonsfire están de vuelta en este 2025 a través de la que será su tercer LP de estudio "Rebirth of the beast" que verá la luz de forma oficial el próximo 15 de mayo. De nuevo estamos ante una banda que daba señales de un incierto futuro independientemente de su calidad, en este caso hablamos de una banda formada en 2005 pero con solo dos LP's en 20 años, algo que como digo subsanarán en este año con una tercera obra que promete un renacimiento a través del título. Axe - Battles - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

BATTLES

Los estadounidenses Axe son uno de esos grupos que han sabido moverse en ese indeterminado terreno a medio camino del hard rock y el heavy metal, el tan famoso y recurrente hard'n heavy que en la década de los ochenta encontró su propio espacio y que resulta para algunos de nosotros adictivo como estilo, imagino que por la versatilidad que permite sin caer en uno de los dos lados a lo largo de toda una obra. Formados en 1979 esta banda siempre demostró calidad y un gran gusto compositivo, con momentos importantes y una carrera irregular en lo que a asiduidad compositiva se refiere. En 1979 editaban su debut "Axe" del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog su canción "Battles" con la que cierran la obra, en una clave de épico medio tiempo del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Grave Digger - Hellfire Crusade - Canciones Para Una Vida

HELLFIRE  CRUSADE

Charger - Desperadoes - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

DESPERADOES

Vamos con otro de esos grupos que apenas nació, apenas dejó una pincelada del potencial que atesoraban para ser engullido por las arenas del tiempo dentro de una apisonadora como fue la escena británica de los 80. Hablamos una vez más de heavy metal, hablamos de Charger, una de las varias bandas que lo intentaron bajo ese nombre, estos desarrollan su breve carrera en la parte media de la década de los 80, y tras publicar un solo single con dos temas "Desperadoes/ Are you out there" se separan y desaparecen. Dejo hoy a modo de homenaje no solo a ellos sino a tantos otros que pudieron ser y no fueron por los más diversos motivos, concretamente la canción "Desperadoes" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

En este 2025 verá la luz el primer LP de estudio de los germanos Dirkschneider and the old gang, proyecto de UDO con ex miembros de Accept y otros incluyendo a su hijo. El disco tendrá por título "Babylon", y verá la luz teoricamente para Octubre. Sign Of The Wolf - Murder At Midnight - Canciones Para Una Vida

MURDER  AT  MIDNIGHT

Desde las Islas Aland, a medio camino entre Suecia, Finlandia y Noruega o Dinamarca incluso, nos dejan su dsico Sign Of The Wolf, un proyecto de muchos músicos. Sonido que busca rendir tributo a ese primer hard 'n heavy melódico con Dio o Rainbow como espejo en el que confiesan mirarse. Su debut titulado como la propia banda, "Sign of the wolf" espera su salida a la venta el día 24 de este mes de abril, y de él dejo hoy en el blog la canción "murder at midnight" inspirada en Jack el destripador, y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Fairyland - To Stars And Beyond - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

TO  STARS  AND  BEYOND

Nos adentramos hoy en los terrenos sinfónicos y abigarrados de ese tipo de bandas como Fairyland, nacidos en ese punto en que la alargada sombra de Rhapsody y su legado se extendía sobre todo por Europa creando escuela, y mostrando un camino con promesa de éxito para muchas nuevas bandas de casi cualquier nacionalidad. Fairyland se forman en Francia a comienzos de los 2000 (2003 bajo Fairyland) aunque ya venían cambiando de nombre varios años antes (1997) con varios intentos hasta recalar en el citado y definitivo de Fairyland. Inspiración en la fantasía para generar su sonido, con mucho adorno, y mucho  tópico del subgénero, mostrando desde el inicio un enorme potencial que les hacia poseedores de un hipotético futuro mando entre las huestes del sonido sinfónico, sin embargo, por uno u otro motivo ese liderazgo no se dio nunca, en parte también por la falta de constancia a la hora de publicar material. Así solamente son cinco los LP's de su discografía, si incluimos este "The Story Remains" que verá la luz en junio de este 2025 y del que dejo hoy en el blog su adelanto "To stars and beyond", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Warkings - Armageddon - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

ARMAGEDDON

La verdad es que cuando surgió el proyecto internacional "Warkings" allá por 2018, con su primera obra ese mismo año "Reborn", el lustroso resultado se me antojaba más como el enésimo proyecto para hacer caja y de corto recorrido, un bonito experimento lleno de tópicos y calidad, directo al corazón del metalhead medio para ofrecer el suculento "gusano" en el anzuelo y así recuperar los esfuerzos económicos de turno, sin embargo, siete años después la banda es una propuesta duradera, que va ya por el quinto intento, si contamos este "Armageddon" cuya salida oficial se espera para el próximo mes de julio, a juzgar por el adelanto que van desvelando, y del que dejo hoy un enlace, con el concepto primigenio intacto, de hecho, cada obra mostrando más esa sensación de banda con identidad propia.

Pentagram - Wartime - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

WARTIME

Vamos de vuelta al material de una banda clásica, una de las que pueden considerarse pioneras del sonido doom, aunque por la estructura de su carrera podrían haber adquirido ese sonido mucho más en propiedad si hubiesen empezado a publicar LP's al poco de formarse a comienzos de los setenta, sin embargo espararían más de una década para hacerlo, algo como mínimo curioso. Para 1987, 15 años después de sus primeros escarceos como banda, editan su segundo LP de estudio, "Day of reckoning", una obra que el tiempo ha ido poniendo en un alto puesto de respeto, sobre todo en el universo Doom, y del que quiero dejar en lo blog hoy una de sus canciones, escogiendo hoy la que cierra la obra, "Wartime", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Angelic Forces - Force To Fight - Canciones Para Una vida

FORCE  TO  FIGHT

Desde Holanda hoy otra banda más de reciente formación, aunque sería más apropiado decir de reciente puesta en marcha, ya que a pesar de formarse en 2015, Angelic Forces no editan nada más que un EP hasta 2018, siendo 2022 la fecha de publicación de, hasta la fecha de esta reseña, su único LP de estudio "Arise" al que ha seguido el single en 2024 "Force to fight" re editado al incialmente encontrarse en su EP debut en 2018. Estamos ante un sonido heavy metal, con un cierto aire a hard 'n heavy, de hecho en el tema que dejo hoy en el blog se me dan un aire incluso a los Skid Row de sus mejores momentos. Ninth Circle - I The Radical - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

I , THE  RADICAL

Los estadounidenses Ninth Circle son una banda con un largo ya recorrido en activo (desde 1996) que sin embargo han tenido una carrera muy pausada ya que en todos esos años solo cinco han sido los LP's de estudio publicados, el último de ellos de este 2025 "Anthem of the immortal" que verá la luz de forma oficial en el mes de junio. Se trata de una banda que practica un sonido heavy power, que por ejemplo en el tema de adelanto de la nueva obra, "I The Radical" que dejo hoy en el blog, se va un poco a los propios judas o a Primal Fear, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Void - Retrun Of The Phantom - Canciones Para Una Vida

RETURN  OF  THE  PHANTOM

La banda estadounidense Void se forma en 2019 y a fecha de esta reseña, tan solo tiene un único LP de estudio publicado, "Horros of reality" de 2023, al que sumar desde 2021 en adelante un puñado de singles, el ultimo de ellos del pasado 2024. Hablamos de un sonido que apunta hacia un thrash pero con un plus melódico, que en no pocas ocasiones bordea el heavy speed metal de corte clásico. No hay duda del aire clásico de su sonido, como en el tema que dejo hoy en el blog, su citado último single de 2024 "Return of the phantom" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Neuroblade - Avalon - Canciones Para Una Vida

En 2023 comienza la andadura de este proyecto belga, Neuroblade, en el que dos músicos se han encargado de dar forma y que en este 2025 (el 2 de mayo) verá como publican su EP "Desert claw". Se trata de una mezcla de sonidos de heavy metal de corte clásico con un heavy más acelerado que roza el thrash, sin renunciar a la vertiente melódica. Arctc Heart - Valhalla - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

VALHALLA

Estamos más acostumbrados a que el sonido de las bandas provenientes de Noruega esté más orientado al black death metal, con un aura y una atmósfera oscuras, pero no todos los grupos parece que escogen esa vía, alguno, como Arctic Heart, escogen una senda heavy power de corte europeo para desarrollar su carrera. Formados en 2019, comienzan a publicar material en 2023, primero a través de un par de singles, anticipo de su debut "Ragnarok" ese mismo año. En este 2025 acaban de publicar su continuación (4 de abril) con su segundo LP "Valhalla". Solo con los títulos de la sobras se puede uno hacer una idea de por donde les llega la inspiración, la mitología nórdica copa sus letras. Running Wild - Blown To Kingdom Come - Canciones Para Una Vida

BLOWN  TO  KINGDOM  COME

Hacía ya tiempo que no rescataba algún tema del pasado glorioso de una de mis bandas preferidas, los germanos Running Wild, y hoy me ha venido a la cabeza el enorme disco "Port Royal" de 1988, uno de los mejores de la banda en opinión general, quizá un disco más variado de lo que acostumbra la banda y que personalmente recomendaría entero. Estamos hablando del cuarto disco de estudio de la banda en un gran momento compositivo que queda patente en cada canción, de entre las que hoy quiero dejar en el blog "Blown to kingdom come", con su toque cadencioso, al tiempo que poderoso e hímnico, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
