Manowar - March For Revenge - Canciones Para Una Vida

MARCH  FOR  REVENGE  (BY THE SOLDIERS OF DEATH) 

Nueva visita al material clásico de los ultra heavys Manowar, una banda rodeada siempre de polémica, tan amados como odidados pero sin duda alguna poseedores de su propia porción de historia dentro del heavy metal. Volviendo la cabeza de nuevo a la parte inicial de su carrera quiero recuperar hoy otra de las canciones de su segundo LP de estudio "Into glory ride", obra de confirmación de la banda, fresco para la época, definiendo el sonido luego tan imitado con ese trasfondo ultra heavy, auténticamente macarrilla, pero honesto desde esa perspectiva compositiva sin arreglos. Grymheart - The Dark Rider - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  DARK  RIDER 

Los hungaros Grymheart son una banda de reciente formación (2022) que se ha decantado compositivamente por un death melódico de inspiración folk cuyo sonido apunta a bandas tipo Ensiferum en sus inicios o Wintersun, por ejemplo. En 2023 publicaban su debut en formato LP "Hellsish Hunt" que en este 2025 ve continuidad compositiva en este caso a través de un single nuevo del que de momento no tengo noticia de que forme parte de un segundo LP. Scarlet - She Taste Like Metal - Canciones Para Una Vida

SHE  TASTE  LIKE  METAL 

Los estadounidenses Scarlet son una banda que centro su sonido en el hard 'n heavy, muy de la época de mediados de los ochenta en la que comienzan a desarrollar su carrera. Es igualmente una de esas bandas que en cierto momento desaparecen de la escena, en un paréntesis compositivo de 20 años, (1985 a 2005), tres LP's son los publicados por la banda (1983, 85 y 2005) a los que añadir su EP inicial de 1982. Doro - Warriors Of The Sea - Canciones Para Una Vida

WARRIORS  OF  THE  SEA 

Otro de los nombres clásicos dentro del heavy metal es el de la cantante alemana Doro Pesch que a lo largo del tiempo ha ido poniendo su granito de arena en la historia de nuestro sonido, primero con Warlock y luego bajo su propio nombre Doro. En este 2025 se suma a la tendencia general de sacar singles sueltos para mantenerse en la retina del gran público ante el elevado riesgo de olvido que cualquiera que permanezca en silencio durante más de un par de años. El nuevo tema "Warriors of the sea" se incluirá en la obra recopilatoria del mismo nombre que saldrá el próximo mes de octubre y en el que recoge también varios temas en vivo grabados en sus presentaciones en directo en los cruceros metálicos. Los alemanes Mind Odyssey son una banda de esas que han sido relegadas a un segundo plano a pesar de la asombrosa e innegable calidad que poseen y han demostrado, una vez más la falta de constancia compositiva puede ser un factor importante para no haber alcanzado mayor reconocimiento general. La banda ha tenido dos periodos de actividad, un primer periodo entre 1993 y 1999 y un segundo desde 2007 en adelante supuestamente siguiendo activos en la actualidad aunque sin sacar material nuevo desde 2009. Arch Enemy - Illuminate The Path - Canciones Para Una Vida

ILLUMINATE  THE  PATH 

Un poco como sucede con los finlandeses Amorphis, los suecos Arch Enemy han alcanzado ese momento en su carrera en el que cada movimiento compositivo de la banda atrae las miradas en general de todo el mundo metálico, siempre apoyándose en la calidad, el resultado no podría ser otro. Metal Mercy - The Unborn Child - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  UNBORN  CHILD 

Metal Mercy es un grupo sueco propietario de un sonido a medio camino de varias cosas, pero en una línea de heavy thrash, más heavy metal que otra cosa. que comienza en la parte ya final de los ochenta teniendo poca continuidad y realmente poca discografía que se limita solo a dos EP's (1989 y 2002). Supuestamente reactivados en 2020 no han editado nada nuevo más allá de un single en 2021. Hoy quiero rescatar una de las canciones de su primer EP "The Unborn child",  de 1989 como decía más arriba, en concreto la canción que lo da nombre y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Overdrive (UK) - On The Run - Canciones Para Una Vida

ON  THE  RUN 

Vamos hoy con una de las bandas que ha adoptado el nombre de Overdrive para intentar una carrera musical dentro del sonido metálico, en esta ocasión con los británicos a los que se incluye en el movimiento de la NWOBHM, por lo tanto nos encontramos ante una propuesta de los ochenta con un heavy metal de su época. Es una banda que ha cambiado de nombre en algunas ocasiones y que una vez más, a pesar de poseer muchas y suficientes virtudes para alcanzar mayor éxito, su inconstancia dictó sentencia, máxime perteneciendo a tan saturada escena en ese momento como la británica. En 1981 editaban el EP "On the run", con tres canciones, y del que dejo en el blog la que da nombre a la obra, de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Amorphis - Dancing Shadow - Canciones Para Una Vida

DANCING  SHADOW 

Poco más de un mes nos queda para la salida oficial de la nueva obra de estudio de los finlandeses Amorphis, y mientras esperamos la salida de "Borderland" no puede uno por menos que acercarse a cada adelanto que el grupo nos va dejando a modo de miguitas antes del banquete. Triumph - Rock 'N Roll Machine - Canciones Para Una Vida

  

ROCK  'N  ROLL  MACHINE

Los canadienses Triumph son un ejemplo más de lo delgada que puede ser la línea entre el hard rock y el heavy, y son una de esas bandas que flirtearon con ese sonido, sobre todo en la parte inicial de su carrera cuando incluso el sonido heavy estaba aún por definirse y explotar, y es que los canadienses comenzaron como banda en 1975, y con un periodo de actividad hasta el presente realmente a nivel compositivo se les puede seguir la pista hasta mitad de los 90. Cosschan un notable éxito de ventas muy desde el inicio, y hoy quiero dejar en el blog una de las canciones de su segundo album de estudio, "Rock 'n roll machine" de 1977, como decía más arriba en sus momentos más hard 'n heavy como en el tema que da nombre a la obra y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
