YGLINGA SAGA (TO ODIN WE CALL)
Los Alemanes Rebellion, como ya he dicho creada por exmiembros de Grave Digger, son un contundente grupo de power metal
que surge en 2001, tras la trilogía de Grave Digger del "Tunes of war",
"Knights of the cross" y "Excalibur", en la posiblemente mejor época de esa
banda. En ese momento, Tomi Gotttlich y Uwe Lulis, deciden por
desacuerdos con Chris Boltendahl, (fundador lider y cantante de Grave Digger), separar sus caminos, llegando a litigar
incluso por la posesión del nombre de Grave Digger. Finalmente se
decantan por la utilización de Rebellion, uno de los temas más conocidos
de su banda madre.
Comienzan a
sacar material en 2002 y desde ese momento 6 discos de estudio han visto
la luz bajo el nombre Rebellion, así como un EP. Su mejor momento para
mi es la "trilogía vikinga", entre 2005 y 2009. Pero antes de dicha
trilogia ya habian dejado entrever que son una banda de verdad, no una
pataleta de "me separo y creo mi propia banda". El disco del que hoy quiero hablar en el blog es el primero de la "trilogía vikinga" a la que me refería. Se trata del disco "Sagas Of Iceland", de 2005, tercera obra de la banda, y un paso adelante en lo que es su música, con una clara intención conceptual, que como digo tendrá continuación en sus dos siguientes discos "Miklagard" de 2007 y "Arise, from Ginnungagap to Ragnarok" de 2009. En esta primera entrega de la trilogia nos encontramos a unos Rebellion mucho más asentados y con las ideas muy claras musicalmente comparado con sus dos primeras obras, lo que nos hace disfrutar de un disco bien estructurado y con grandes temas, como este "Yglinga Saga (to Odin we call)", que hoy quiero dejar en el blog. Un tema muy epico, muy de batalla, una de las canciones que a mi más me gustan de la banda, y una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
