LIVIN' IN HYSTERIA
Desde Alemania, una banda que resulta importante para entender el subgénero del power metal dentro de nuestra música, se trata de Heaven's Gate. Comienzan su aventura musical bajo el nombre de Steeltower, en 1982 con el que funcionan hasta 1987, sacando un solo disco de estudio en 1984. Como digo en 1987 deciden cambiar su nombre a Heavens Gate coincidiendo con la importante incorporación del guitarrista, compositor y productor musical Sascha Paeth, que sería un gran impulsor no solo de la banda sino también del estilo. Bajo el nombre de Heavens Gate comienzan a sacar material en 1989 creando en total 5 discos de estudio y 3 EP's en la década que la banda estuvo activa pues en 1999 deciden cesar en su actividad debido a la necesidad de Sascha de centrarse en su carrera como productor musical. La importancia de Paeth queda reflejada en las producciones de bandas tan grandes como Angra, Rhapsody, Kamelot, Edguy, Avantasia, Luca Turilli, Aina, y un largo etc. He querido traer al blog uno de sus discos más reconocidos, el livin' in hysteria, el segundo disco de la banda, de 1991, y la canción homónima a disco, un tema que es todo un clásico dentro del power metal.
