THUNDER GOD
Vamos ahora con una banda de reciente descubrimiento para mí que ha llegado a mis oídos a través de una buena recomendación y que ha sido sin duda una grata sorpresa por su sonido además de por su origen, otros paisanos que van agrandando lentamente la escena española dentro de este sonido que flirtea con el folk vikingo y nórdico. Se trata de los madrileños Pimeä Metsä, que ya desde la elección de su nombre que en finlandés significa "bosque oscuro", nos dan una pista de por donde van a ir sus intenciones musicales. Se trata pues de un sonido que ellos auto denominan como viking folk metal, con una base death muy en la onda del sonido nórdico de Europa alimentando la lírica de sus temas de mitología nórdica, temática vikinga y pagana centrada en la naturaleza. El grupo se forma en 2006 y será en 2010 cuando editen su primer material de estudio en forma del EP titulado"Beneath the northern lights", obra a la que seguirá en 2013 su primer larga duración "Legacy of the heathen north" donde ya mostraban claramente como se las gastan. En plenas navidades pasadas editaron su segundo LP, "No blood no glory", por tanto de 2016, en el que se afianzan en su concepto y en su sonido, un disco del que hoy quiero dejar un tema en el blog, concretamente "Thunder God", del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.
