DEMON'S DAY
Grave Digger comienzan
bajo el nombre de "Digger" con el que funcionan entre los años 1980 y
1987, con un cambio de estilo más hacia el Hard Rock, al final de esa
primera época, tratando de alcanzar el éxito en las ventas para pasar a
llamarse "Hawaii" entre el 1988 y el 91. Al no
obtener el resultado esperado deciden en 1991 cambiar al su nombre
"Grave Digger", volviendo a sus raíces en su sonido, siguiendo así hasta
el presente. Grave digger
tiene una extensa discografía que consta de 16 discos de estudio así
como de 8 EP's. Realmente la vuelta en el 91 fue eso, una vuelta, como
si una banda hubiese roto y hubiesen vuelto, con la incorporación de dos
miembros de categoría, Tomi Göttlich, al bajo, y Jörg Michael, a
la batería. Su primer disco de esta nueva era, "The Reaper", de 1993,
fue toda una declaración de intenciones y en él escuchamos a unos Grave
Digger muy en sintonía con su sonido actual, siendo sin duda el comienzo
de su época más exitosa que se prolonga hasta nuestros días, sonido que
les ha llevado a ser una de las bandas grandes y respetadas en esto del
heavy. Al año siguiente de su "The Reaper", sacan el EP "Symphony of
death", confirmación de que estos chicos iban ya en serio a la conquista
de la cima metálica internacional, un EP que formaba las bases, junto
con su siguiente obra, "Heart of darkness", de 1995, para mostrar al
mundo la trilogía "medieval", "Tunes of war", Knights of the cross" y
"Excalibur" que terminó de encumbrarles internacionalmente. Volviendo a su "Heart of Darkness", de 1995, su quinto LP, nos encontramos con un buen disco en su conjunto del que se pueden destacar varios temas como "Demon's Day", canción de la que quiero hoy dejar un enlace a youtube.
