WHEN THE AURORA FALLS & DON'T KILL ME AGAIN
Regreso al sonido prominente a finales de los 90 y comienzos de los 2000, el power metal que en plena explosión se diversificaba por doquier, adquiriendo rasgos propios y personales por continentes e incluso por naciones. Una de esas naciones que en esos momentos adquiere ese sello personal dentro del subgénero fue Italia, al calor del éxito rotundo cosechado por los archi conocidos Rhapsody, que allanaron el camino a una legión de bandas clónicas o semi, o que al menos lo intentaban, copando parte del mercado internacional power del momento. Una banda más de esa hornada fueron "Highlord" que comenzaron su andadura en 1998, y que para 2000 editaban ya su segundo LP, "When the aurora falls", para muchos su mejor material. La realidad es que puede ser así, se trata de una obra completa, variada, donde la banda no solo trata de recrear ese ambiente Rhapsódico, sino que se fija en otros sonidos un poco en plan progresivo a lo Labyrinth va variando y demostrando que fueron una seria propuesta de calidad, con el puesto de guitarrista francamente bien cuboerto por ejemplo con Stefano Droeto en ocasiones en un plan casi Shred. Buena obra que habría merecido mejor suerte como la banda en general, y de este su segundo LP dejo hoy en el blog el tema que abre la obra "Don't kill me again" junto a la tipica, sobre todo en la época y el estilo, intro instrumental que da nombre a la obra, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
